Ekaterine Gamakharia, the head of the Tbilisi representative office of "Women's Fund Sukhumi," participated in the 25th international conference organized by the WAVE network in Madrid. The conference focused on the topic of "Institutional violence and its impact on women's rights in Europe." Approximately 200 women's rights defenders from various European countries discussed institutional violence against women, female migrants, and disabled individuals who have experienced abuse at the hands of state structures.

During the conference, Ekaterine Gamakharia took part in a parallel panel discussion with representatives from the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) and non-governmental organizations that are partners of the WAVE network. These organizations, including the Center "Women's Perspectives" in Lviv, Ukraine; the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Yerevan, Armenia; and the "United Women of Banja Luka" Foundation in Bosnia & Herzegovina, provided insights into the project. Gamakharia had the opportunity to share information about the toolkit titled "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in the war and post-war period: Experience and recommendations of women's non-governmental organizations." The toolkit describes the experiences and best practices of women's organizations in Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina in preventing and responding to violence against conflict-affected women in war, protracted conflict, and post-conflict settings. Members of the Youth Empowerment Centers of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” and their parents took part in the online information meeting.

During the meeting, there was made a presentation of the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs", (prepared by the Network: Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE).

Participants learned about the successful experience of women organizations, including the Women Fund “Sukhumi”, which is described in the publication.

An online information meeting was held with employees of kindergarten No. 13 in Kutaisi.

During the presentation, participants got acquainted with the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs" prepared by the Network: Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE).

They were particularly interested in the successful practice of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”, to which one of the chapters of the guide is dedicated.

Information meeting with an active part of the local community was held in the village Jvartskhma (Chokhatauri municipality). Participants were informed about the experience of women's organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Armenia, and Georgia. Particular attention was paid to the work of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” - all this is described in the guidebook "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs".

The participants got acquainted with the strategy that our organization uses in the issues of post-conflict rehabilitation, assistance to victims of violence/risk groups, and violence prevention.

According to participants, it is difficult to make progress in reducing violence without deep public awareness of the problem and understanding of its own responsibility. The areas where they see their active role were identified and they are ready to work closely with the Fund “Sukhumi”.

The guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs", was published by the Network Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE). In this publication the successful practice of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” was given as an example from Georgia. This publication and the experience of our organization was the topic of conversation of Fund’s representative in schools of the villages Koki and Didinezi - Zugdidi municipality. The meetings were attended by teachers, parents of pupils and our women activists. According to them, they know the work of the Fund “Sukhumi” well, it is really successful organization, and it is good that people know about it on a global level.

The meeting, held in Tskaltubo, was attended by representatives of the City Council and the City Hall. "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs" - the audience read this publication issued by the European Network WAVE.

Participants got acquainted with the work of women's organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Armenia, and Georgia. The fact that Georgia is represented by the successful practice of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” was especially important for them.

This guide was produced by the European women's network WAVE and presents the experiences of women's organizations. One of them is the results of the successful work of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” in the context of a protracted conflict.

A meeting of online format was attended by members of the Gender Equality Council and representatives of the City Hall of Vani municipality.

The representative of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” introduced the meeting participants to the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs" - prepared by the European women network WAVE. The part of the guide where the successful practice of the Fund “Sukhumi” was discussed, was important For them. It was noted that the organization deservedly appeared into the publication, since it has great experience in this area.

During a meeting, held in Khobi municipality, the participants were interested in the activities of women's organizations during the war and post-war period. They expressed particular interest towards the experience of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”. It was noted that this is international recognition of the organization and a fact that one can be proud of.

The information meeting in Khobi was attended by kindergarten teachers and parents of the kids. Participants familiarized themselves with the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs" - prepared by the European women network WAVE.

The publication presents the successful practice of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” - this is recognition of our large-scale work at the international level. For journalists it was interesting to hear this information. They expressed a desire to more actively publicize the work, successes and achieved results of our organization.
