Workshops with the youth

The problem of violence against women, is perceive by the young people with particular acuteness. According to them, if we want to solve the problem, first of all, you need to think about managing conflicts that occur in families both hidden, or open.

- The company is created by us, it depends on us, what measures will take society in support of the victims. We need to intervene in the conflict at the time, while it is possible to solve the problem – this is the opinion of young participants of the workshops, which were held in Tskhaltubo, Khoni and Poti.

They believe that a rapist should be afraid of the solidarity of society, which will not leave the victim alone. This is very important during the prevention of violence.

Topic of discussion: relationship with children, parents

The workshops in Kutaisi, Senaki, Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality), was attended by women from 30 to 60.

- How our parents brought us, why we make the same mistakes in the relationship with our children, why there are conflicts of generations - interesting discussions were held on these topics.

- We often heared from parents that our generation does not understand anything, behaves badly. When we became parents, we have already begun to repeat this phrase.

- The reason of family conflicts is wrong education. We must not bring up boys as "rulers" of the family, and the girls do not have to constantly put up with everything.

- I always thought that my mother was very strict. We often argued with her on issues such as go to a girlfriend's birthday or not, a walk with friends. In a relationship with children, I repeated the same thing. Unfortunately, I later realized that my mother was always right. Probably my children will also understand it.

At the end of the discussion the participants listened to a psychologist and received appropriate advices.

Conflict of generations - topic of the workshop

Conflict of generations: parents, children and their relationship - these issues were discussed at the workshops by the young people in Khoni, Poti, Tskaltubo.

According to them, the conflicts between the generations is the eternal theme, and it causes different opinions.

Young people noted that parents should be especially careful to act in the transitional age. They should bear in mind that all children are unique, and the methods that have been used, for example, with the elder child, can not be effective in dealing with junior.

It was stressed that children must improve communication with the older generation. They must realize that parents  are the closest people to them, and they should not have protest to the obstacles made by them.
