A television reporting on live of TV company “Guria”

TV company “Guria” prepared a special reporting about a meeting organized by Fund "Sukhumi" with municipalities of Guria to share information and experience.

Respondents answered the questions: what the project involves, how important such meetings are, on which issues should cooperation between representatives of local authorities and different groups of society take place in the process of introduction of a local gender agenda, and in which issues it is necessary to deepen cooperation between the center and regions.

Information about the Fund "Sukhumi" - in the February bulletin of WAVE

WAVE is a network of women's non-governmental organizations in Europe working to prevent violence against women and children. The Fund "Sukhumi" is an active member of this network. WAVE periodically publishes a newsletter, in which it gives information about the member organizations of the Network. This time the newsletter received information about the work of the Fund "Sukhumi" with boys.

Radio program was dedicated to gender equality policy

A research was undertaken in the frame of the project “Learning from Visegrad 4 experience to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance”.

A radio program on air of radio “Rioni” was dedicated to one of the topics of the research is “Decentralization – local governance – gender policy, Georgia”.

The conversation was about projects implemented by Fund “Sukhumi”, research materials, gender equality policy, results and challenges, role and importance of NGOs.

Radio program on participatory budgeting

The second radio program in the frame of the project “Learning from Visegrad 4 experience to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance” was broadcasted on radio “Rioni” on 27th of February. It was a continuation of the conversation launched during the first program and a discussion on participatory budgeting, which allows ordinary citizens to participate in drafting of local self-government budget, was held. Technologies in participatory budgeting were also presented.

Article in the newspaper “P.S.” about gender equality as the main objective for the development of modern society

  

“Gender equality means equal representation, equal participation and opportunities for women and men in all spheres of public and private life…” and the achievement of gender equality is one of the key goals and priorities for the development of modern society.

An article of an expert on gender issues, the chairperson of fund "Sukhumi" Alla Gamakharia, published in the newspaper "P.S." on February 12, 2018 starts with the above mentioned words.

The article highlights important points about the need to develop gender policy both at the state and municipal level and active work on the introduction of this policy.
