Terjola, Poti, Nakhakhulevi workshops on the topic of conflict transformation

Analysis of the conflict, the transformation of the conflict, women's peace initiatives - these themes have united young people living in 6 regions of Western Georgia. Within the framework of the project "Expanding Women's Opportunities for Developing New Approaches Relating to the Transformation of the Conflict," they passed a three-day training on these issues, mastered the skills of the facilitator and then themselves began to organize workshops.

Tamar Iakobashvili held the first workshop on June 3 in Terjola. After the introductory words of the facilitator, the discussion of the causes of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict and ways of its settlement began. The meeting lasted almost 3 hours, but the participants did not feel the flow of time, as they were actively involved in the process.

Keti Cheban and Mariam Zirakadze held a workshop on June 7 at school No.5 and No.7 in Poti. At first they acquainted the audience with information about the project. Then they learned what the participants know about the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, what their attitude is. Participants worked in three groups and presented interesting presentations. During the feedback it was noted that they were able to manifest their capabilities.

On June 8, Tea Medzvelia included girls in the village of Nakhakhulevi (Khoni municipality) in the workshop. They listened with interest to information about the work carried out within the framework of the project.

The facilitator maximally involved the audience in the work. Particularly active was the activity of girls regarding women's peace initiatives. At the time of the workshop, all the items drafted in the modules were successfully implemented.

The project  is implemented with the support of  Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA
