The cycle “5 ART” was finished - 5 meetings were held with refugees from different cities of Ukraine. The purpose of therapeutic meetings is to develop their ability to connect emotions and situations in which they are forced to find themselves. Meetings help children to eliminate emotional stress and associated symptoms, interact correctly with themselves and with others, and transform negative impulses and reactions into positive ones.
The results are already visible: stress relief, weakening of excessive conscious control, mutual trust, physical freedom. 10 children from 7 to 12 years old made friends and spent 5 interesting days at Women Fund the “Sukhumi”.
The work was carried out with the support of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub.
In January, 9 new people were added to the number of Ukrainians and now there are already 387 of them. As in previous months, they were assisted in different ways. The most important thing is the distribution of food vouchers. In January, the organization purchased 52 vouchers for 100 GEL and distributed them to 39 families. In addition, we paid utility bills for 4 families, and 6 families received finances to pay apartment rent.
Depending on the needs, there are other types of support: payment for telephone calls, reimbursement of the cost of consultations, blood transfusions or medicines for cancer patients.
All this may be small compared to the problems they have, but they all thank us for this stable support, which has been continuing for almost two years now.

In January, the psychologist of the Women's Fund “Sukhumi” actively worked with families who came from Ukraine. She met with 16 refugees - psycho-rehabilitation work was carried out: collection of anamnesis, liberation from negative emotions. Along with adults, the psychologist actively worked with three teenagers. They suffer from hyperactivity, loneliness and problems of adapting to a new environment. 11 Ukrainians took part in the event of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”, which was dedicated to the completion of the campaign of “16 active days against gender-based violence women”. Three of them expressed gratitude and highly appreciated the work of the fund, the consultations of a psychologist and a lawyer, who at different stages provided and continue to provide them with assistance. During this meeting, the women got to know each other and decided to communicate regularly. Yulia Rezvan expressed special gratitude for the opportunity - she bakes, and she was ordered sweet cookies for this meeting. This is a big assistance for her, and she is very glad that “in this difficult time, we are supporting women from Ukraine in every possible way.”

Sasha is seven years old, Kirill is eight, Artyom is 15, and Levan, whose mother is Ukrainian and father is Georgian, is ten.
These children often come to psychologist Manana Gotsiridze together with their mothers. Because they need help - the war has changed their way of life, their character...
Fear of loneliness, difficulties of adaptation, hyperactivity, isolation – the psychologist works on these problems with children from Ukraine.
In parallel with children, consultations are held with adults to “ventilate” negative emotions.
In December, the psychologist met with 14 Ukrainian refugees. These meetings, free psychological consultations, useful advice and assistance are especially valuable and necessary for them.

War is the most brutal violence against women - women IDPs from Abkhazia and refugees from Ukraine know this well. That is why our Ukrainian guests joined the campaign of “16 active days against gender-based violence”.
They attended the final event of the campaign, heard information about the events held by the Women Fund “Sukhumi” in the municipalities of Western Georgia.
The Ukrainians expressed their gratitude. They noted that the support of the Fund “Sukhumi” to their families is immeasurable. The support is expressed by humanitarian assistance, psychological consultation or retraining - for example, some of them passed the courses of polymer clay at a day rehabilitation center.
The day spent with the Fund “Sukhumi” staff and the representatives of various municipalities ended with pleasant impressions for the Ukrainian guests.

Psychological consultations and psychotherapeutic sessions are part of the assistance that our organization provides to refugees from Ukraine.
The psychologist of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”, Manana Gotsiridze, actively worked with these people in November. Many years of experience in psycho-rehabilitation of IDPs helps her to understand the emotions of Ukrainians and to choose the best method to work with them. This is why the beneficiaries express pleasure when communicating with her.
During a month, representatives of 6 families contacted a psychologist, and 18 people received consultations. Three of them attend individual psychotherapy sessions.
According to them, this is a great support for Ukrainians living in Kutaisi.

In recent months, Ukrainians receive vouchers from the Women Fund “Sukhumi”. Depending on the number of family members, one, two or three vouchers worth 100 GEL are issued. Within a month, they can use vouchers to buy necessary products. As Ukrainians note, this system is convenient and practical for them.
In November, 32 families received assistance in the form of vouchers. There are currently 370 people in our database who receive our support. 13 new beneficiaries were added this month.
Although our organization cannot solve many of the challenges and needs of Ukrainian refugees, they greatly appreciate our support.
