On ordinary meeting, members of Batumi GAC discussed the issues which to their opinion should be reflected in the package of suggestions and recommendations for submission in the self-government. The data of document submission were talked over in order to coincide them with the pre-budget period.
The meeting heard information regarding current projects, two of them are in the active phase. New project ideas were discussed. The GAC is going to submit one more project for contest program in the City Hall.
The conversation also touched problems of citizens, who address for a help to the GAC.
On the initiative of GAC members a training was planned aiming at gender education of government staff.

Batumi GAC evaluated the process of advocacy of recommendations in local budget and drafted a strategy of lobbying the issues, solution of which is not held yet.
They heard information regarding participation in “16 day campaign”, current projects under the council and also “Cases” of collaboration with governmental structures and public institutions.
Particular interest was paid to discussion of legislative changes, which envisages increasing of the role of self-government in local gender policy (including the issues of domestic violence and prevention). 

 

 

At the next 10th meeting of the Council of Advisors of Khoni there was given an information about social projects of the organization PIN. It was noted that new social services aimed at improving the social condition of citizens will be used in the municipality of Khoni, and at the same time will promote to the introduction of long-term social service practices.

Funds for the viability of projects will be allocated from the local budget.

The project is funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and is implemented in the municipalities of Khoni, Tkibuli, Zugdidi and Gori.

The board of Khoni held the first meeting of the Council of Advisors, established in the framework of the project "Involvement of NGOs working on the issues of social protection, in the strategic dialogue in Georgia." The council approved current members and the statute. It is composed  by representatives of the government and various social groups.

On the same day in the hall of the City Council there was held a meeting of presentation of the project and there was signed a memorandum of understanding between the organization «PIN - Georgia" and the board of the municipality of Khoni. The presentation was attended by local public employees, as well as representatives of organizations working in direction of social protection and health care and NGOs.

According to the participants, the joint activity will contribute to the cooperation of NGOs and public institutions, increase the efficiency of the model of social inclusion at the national as well as local levels.

The project is funded by the European Union and carried out by the Czech non-profit organization "People in Need» (PIN). The partner of the project in Khoni is the Fund "Sukhumi".

  

During the ordinary meeting of the advisors’ council in Khoni there was a discussion of grant proposal and defined categories which should be envisaged under it.

In connection with the grant competition, on December 16 in the children's library of Khoni there is planned an informational meeting. The meeting will be attended by all interested persons who want to participate in the competition.

At the meeting of the Council there was made an decision, to ask Khoni Sakrebulo, to take into account the strategy for social inclusion and action plan.

In library No17 of Kutaisi there was held informational meeting, which was attended by the library staff and residents of neighboring flats. The meeting was attended by the member of Sakrebulo from territorial unit of Dzelkviani – Kakhaber Dvalishvili, aslo representatives of self-government.

Meeting participants spoke about vivid problems and the problems of library. Mr Dvalishvili mentioned that he often meets the people in his territorial unit, but the meeting of this type appeared too interesting for him. In a small audience the conversation touched actual issues.

In connection with the International Day of girls, the representatives of the organization  “Iner Georgia” by the invitation of Fund" Sukhumi "conducted informational meeting.

The meeting was attended by 21 girls from 13 to 21 years old. For them, an interesting film on the theme of reproductology was shown. Active discussion was held. There were questions and answers, talk about the negative consequences of early marriage. The girls expressed their desire to  meet and discuss topical issues again.

On December 3 celebrates international day of the people with disabilities. Mobilizer of Kutaisi WSC conducted the meeting in the day center “Valentine”.

Participants of the meeting heard information about a campaign of “16 active days against violence”, spoke about different types of violence. They noted that there is no reason, which can justify violence and expressed a will of active involvement of the psychologist in violence prevention.

Terjola is one of the new municipalities in which the fund “Sukhumi” has started intensive work since January in frames of the project "Strengthening of Women's Rights in Western Georgia". A meeting with representatives of local self-government was held. The fund staff familiarized them with the goals and objectives of the project.

Meetings are also planned in the local governments of Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti. The work of the ffund will also spread in these municipalities - in parallel to those 6 municipalities in which many activities have been carried out in recent years.

Ordinary meeting of Senaki GAC was held in conference-hall of Senaki Sakrebulo. GAC members familiarized with research analysis of local gender needs, discussed recommendations to the local budget of 2017, elaborated as a results of analysis.

Chairperson of the GAC – Nana Alania made a small report on current project, in frames of which it was successfully completed series of workshops on the issue of gender and domestic violence with different categories of rural population: youth, pupils, teachers of schools and kindergartens, doctors. Totally 56 workshops were held covering 600 persons.

There was held a discussion of one more project of the GAC, implementation of which is planned  from July and the main target group will be teachers of rural kindergartens and parents of pupils. Project will promote to formation of non-violent society through establishing gender education in kindergartens of Senaki Municipality.
