Work-shops in kindergarten No 6 of Senaki regarding domestic violence, gender and eco-sanitary was too impressive. These issues were interesting for the participants and at the same time showed that they have no enough information – it was evaluation of Dali Kachibaia – coordinator of the project “pre-school education for gender equality and healthy environment in Senaki preschool unity”.
Trainers expressed their opinion, who already had experience of communication with the audience. The project coordinator presented information regarding the activities in future.
GAC meeting discussed evaluation of gender needs of Senaki population, which is planned in future. The target groups were chosen, the recommendations were elaborated and will be submitted to local self-government while planning 2016 budget.

From May 19 to May 26, project participants from 4 countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and the North Caucasus) met in Kiev to study the experience of NGOs in Ukraine on issues of working with IIDPs from conflict areas. A total of 16 key participants took part in the trip, 4 coordinators and project director from Germany.

During the trip the participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of 11 organizations of Ukraine. The meetings were organized at a high level both in the working and cultural-educational part. They harmoniously complemented each other.

Integration, resettlement, payment of benefits and compensation, programs for building peace and restoring confidence are the main issues that were discussed at the meetings.

This educational trip showed the need for cooperation not only on the ground, but also between countries that have similar problems and interests.

Thanks to this program, participants learned that questions of peace and the restoration of trust are one of the main tasks in the solution of which civil society must take an active part.

In frames of the project, supported by the fund “Sukhumi and Batumi City Hall – “Support of Preschool Educational Service”, interesting eco-lessons are conducted in target kindergartens of Batumi. Importance of water, seasons, environmental degradation, natural disasters – easy and fun materials promotes to creation of healthy attitude with the nature. Children and their parents are involved in this process with interest. Soon the kindergartens will arrange and eco-corner.     

 

IDPs of the collective center of the hotel “Khvamli” live in hard and confused situation. With the help of representative of the fund “Sukhumi”, they try to advocate their problems. They sent the letter to the Ministry of IDPs and resettlement, but still without answer.
During the informational meeting, held on November 3, the statement was made once again. The families, residing in collective centers will sign the statement and will wait for the official answer from the Ministry.

To ensure the inclusion of local government in the eventsagainst domestic violence, National Network of Protection from Violence prepared changes in the organic law of Georgia "Code on local government" and in the Law of Georgia "On Combating Domestic Violence, the protection of victims of domestic violence and their care".
On October 28, fund "Sukhumi" organized civic debate where women activists got familiar with the draft laws. They noted that the inclusion of local governments in the prevention of domestic violence and protection of victims is important, because the local authority has information about local needs.

In the “Village House” of the village Orsantia (Zugdidi Municipality) there was shown a film of Georgian editor Zurab Inashvili “Speak!”

After the film there was held a round table, active discussion regarding the film and the issues raised in it.

This activity was held in frames of the project “Domestic violence and mechanisms of victims’ protection”.

There were invited women from the villages Ingiri and Didinedzi.

On the International Day of Rural Women on October 17 in the village of Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) Women's Support Center of Khurcha / Koki organized a meeting with rural women. The meeting discussed the situation in the village, problems of women, the work of the Women's Support Center.

At the meeting there was invited the Specialist from Kutaisi - a reproductive gynecologist Lorita Mikava. She told the participants about the problems and diseases of women of all ages, about the importance of annual surveys, about existing free surveys.

Participants had the opportunity to talk individually with a specialist and get answers from her.

A seminar for municipality representatives from Georgia was held in the NGO Gender Studies, Czech Republic, in June 2017. The topic of the seminar was the gender mainstreaming and NGO participation on gender equality in Czech Republic.

Clara Kozlova – an expert involved in the project of Fund “Sukhumi” – “Learning from Visegrad 4 Experience to Advocate for Equal, Inclusive and Democratic Local Governance”, financed by the Visegrad Foundation, told the seminar participants about the project and a research conducted by the experts of 5 countries (Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Georgia), for policy documents on gender mainstreaming in local authorities in the context of European integration.

"Independent social-ecological movement" - is a Czech non-governmental organization that actively supports the work of the Fund "Sukhumi". With its assistance fund implemented the projects, there was a visit to the Czech Republic and other European countries of the Fund employees , the internship program in the NGO sector.
Recently there was completed a project "Changing the policy of local authorities to gender budgeting", implemented with the support of the organization.
On November 10 the leaders of the organization Jaromir Nemec, Irena Markova and Milan Stefanet visited the Fund "Sukhumi". The meeting summed up the results of the project activities. There was also conversation about cooperation with the local government and its plans for the future.

Nicosia is the only capital in the world divided as a result of the conflict - the capital of the Republic of Cyprus, a member of the European Union and partly recognized by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. That is why the joint meetings took place here. At the meetings, studies were done and published to transform the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict.

Representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" met with representatives of NGOs working in Nicosia and Limassol. Particularly interesting was the visit to the "House for Cooperation", which is located in the buffer zone, the so-called. Green line. This is a free space where Greek and Turkish Cypriots meet each other, cooperate in different projects, work together, carry out different activities, drink coffee together ...

Several days in Nicosia were the days when participants in the meetings shared the Cypriot and Georgian-Abkhazian experience, which was very necessary and useful for partner organizations.
