A psychologist and a lawyer of the Fund “Sukhumi” made an active contribution to the campaign. They held three more group meetings remotely for the beneficiaries of the Women Support Centers in Samtredia, Chokhatauri and Tsalenjikha.

The lawyer talked with women about the law against domestic violence and mechanisms of protection. Psychologist spoke about the topic of early marriage - one of the urgent problems. “Do not marry your minor daughter, give her an education, give her a choice, give her confidence,” this was the advice of the psychologist.

The finale of the photo competition and presentation of the clips created especially for the campaign - this is how the 16-day campaign was closed by the Women Fund "Sukhumi" on December 10.

The event in Kutaisi State Historical Museum was attended by Kutaisi Mayor Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, City Council representatives and representatives of the art sphere.

During 16 days, the Fund "Sukhumi" carried out more than 100 activities in 10 Women Support Centers, 10 Youth Centers, Day Rehabilitation Center. Tbilisi representative office and 16 initiative groups operating in 6 municipalities and unite women and youth, were actively involved in the campaign... Information and consultation meetings, forum-theater performances, trainings were organized. The charitable event should be especially mentioned under which women were presented with mobile phones with SAFE YOU app and more.

On the closing day of the campaign, the winners of the photo competition received prizes and certificates.

Bagdati Women Support Center became an active participant in the 16-day campaign. It held a meeting with the Gender Equality Council of the municipality on the topic of violence. A Crisis Center lawyer was invited to the meeting to talk about victim assistance services and legal mechanisms.

As part of the campaign, a film on the topic of violence was shown and a discussion was held in the villages. The meetings were attended by public officials, civil activists, teachers, parents.

Violence against women is evil and society must resist this evil - such is the common opinion of the participants.

"Circle of Violence" - the discussion of this film was held against the background of a special discussion. The meeting was also attended by members of the Gender Council. Participants highlighted the negative impact that the circle of violence creates.

The second initiated activity was held in the school of the village Paluri. The topic of the information meeting was: the first women human rights defenders in Georgia. Participants heard information about how women defended their rights in the past. According to the participants, the 16-day campaign helps to create anti-violence mood in the community.

Tsalenjikha Women Support Center was so actively involved in the campaign.

Vani and Samtredia Women Support Centers actively involved self-government representatives in the campaign against violence.

Senaki Women Support Center joined the campaign against violence with three initiated activities.

During the meeting with the Gender Equality Council, the participants focused on the urgency and priority of the problem.

As part of the campaign, Senaki Youth Palace, Youth and Art Center were also involved. The young people held a rally, performed with elements of forum-theater, exhibited thematic paintings and distributed information flyers.

At the initiative of the Women Support Center, an information meeting was also held with the students of the Public School No 2, the participants talked about the preventive measures against the problem of violence.

The round table discussions organized by the Women's Fund "Sukhumi" are over. The main goal was to develop municipal services for effective response to issues of gender-based violence - through cross-sectoral cooperation and coordination between the center, the region, and the municipalities.

At this time, the central level was represented by Maka Peradze, Head of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government of Georgia, and Tamar Tariashvili, Member of the Permanent Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Administration was represented by Nana Kakachia, a responsible person for gender issues.

The main part of the meeting was dedicated to the representatives of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Municipalities, who shared information on the existing achievements and challenges.

The lawyer spoke about the law of Georgia on suppression of domestic violence, protection and assistance to victims and psychological conversations were on the topic “How to recognize psychological violence and not become a victim ".

Particular attention was paid to the campaign of 16 active days and to the importance of community support.

On November 25, Terjola Women Support Center started the campaign with round table and invited representatives from various spheres of society to speak on the topic.

Women Support Centers of Senaki, Tkibuli, Bagdati, Kobuleti, Samtredia joined the general protest together with the Gender Equality Councils and representatives of self-government.

The negative impact of violence was discussed at the meetings with women and schoolchildren in Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality), Vani, Tsalenjikha, Chokhatauri Women Support Centers.

With each activity, the community was once again sent the message that violence against women is evil.

The youth centers of the Fund "Sukhumi" got involved in the 16-day campaign with special interest. The members of the centers, who have passed a training cycle, are conducting various activities independently now.

Information meeting, exhibition of paintings, preparation of information leaflet, discussion, film screening - this is the format of the events initiated by them. At least 20-30 students are involved in each activity. This means that dozens of young people are familiarized with actual information and express protest against violence
