Psychologist Ekaterine Kvachakidze talks about the work carried out in August:

I held group and individual meetings in Women Support Centers of Koki (Zugdidi Municipality), Tskaltubo, Khobi, Vani and Terjola. The topic of the meeting was again summer, because during hot days the mind is focused on rest.

The women talked about the problems that prevent them from relaxing with their family members. For the others, this has become an incredible luxury. Most of them, instead of relaxing, worked with children on nut plantations. During the conversation, the children mentioned that they were looking forward to the nut-picking season to earn money.

The women already think about September, the beginning of school, which is associated with buying clothes for children and school supplies. This is what summer holidays are like for rural women.

A two-month full basic course in nail care has been completed at the Women Fund “Sukhumi”. The participants were awarded certificates. The main goal of the training is a real prospect of economic empowerment for women by mastering a new profession.

Despite the fact that the Day Rehabilitation Center has experience in such training, the master class of the Ukrainian trainer was still the best exception. The graduates noted:

"I have studied nail care methods before, but nothing compares to the quality that I saw from you."

"The international teacher certificate determined that we learned a new profession at the scientific level."

"Thanks to Women Fund - you are the best!"

The Democracy Research Institute (DRI) held a discussion on "Life Beyond Enguri: The State of Human Rights Protection in Gali." On June 5, Ekaterine took part in a subregional meeting for South Caucasus women peacebuilders, where she engaged with OSCE and GNWP representatives to discuss the current situation in Georgia. She focused on the challenges posed by the "Foreign Agent Law" and its impact on women's participation, particularly for women peacebuilders. On June 6, during the hybrid event "Advancing Women’s Leadership in Women, Peace, and Security and Humanitarian Action: Assessing Progress and Charting the Way Forward," Ekaterine addressed regional progress and future strategies to ensure effective women's participation and leadership. The forum was attended by officials from the OSCE, UN Women, and the European Union.

In today's digital age, where we spend much of our time online, we, as digital citizens, have the same responsibilities as we do in the physical world — to respect the rights of others. One of the growing concerns on the internet is gender identity disinformation, a widespread issue. That's why it's important to recognize this type of disinformation to ensure that neither our rights nor those of others are infringed upon. Our new social video highlights this issue.

Women Fund Sukhumi is pleased to introduce the research report "Dimensions of Human Security: Enhancing Safety and Well-Being in Georgia’s Communities." This research aimed to assess the level of human security across six municipalities in Georgia: Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Senaki, Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khoni. Engaging a diverse range of participants, the study examines various dimensions of security-including economic, public, food, personal, health, and environmental aspects-offering insights into the unique challenges faced by different community groups.

The main finding of the study is that the overall sense of security across different categories and dimensions in the municipalities is at a middle point, with most participants rating their sense of security at level 3 on a 5-point scale, indicating moderate perceptions of safety and well-being. The report presents recommendations for addressing these challenges and improving overall community well-being and safety.
