These are fragments from children's letters.

They address to parents. Express love and talk about problems.

Part of one of the meetings held for the Women Fund "Sukhumi" Youth Empowerment Centers was dedicated to the relationship between children and parents. The idea came to send messages from children to mothers and fathers...

You will read the rest yourself:

  • I have seen my mother, in tears, because of my or my brother's words. When I look at her, my heart hurts too, I think about my behavior ... Her tears are a great pain for me. I apologize and tell her that I love her very much ...
  • I'm sure when I have a child he/she will treat me the way I treated my parents, so I try not to hurt them.
  • My mother is an immigrant and I caress her from distance. Only five months have passed since she left, but it seems to me that we have been apart for many years…

From the diary of the psychologist of the Women Fund "Sukhumi"  - Manana Gotsiridze:

Kh. 28 years old: “After the divorce, life stopped for me. Everything was gray, dull, meaningless. I often thought why to live after such a shame. My mother was crying with me, my mother’s friend found us in such condition and advised me to address the psychologist of the Fund “Sukhumi” for help. For almost eight months I learned to look at the world in a new way. I don’t know how to express my gratitude not only for returning a smile on my face, but also for the light in my mother’s eyes. We are happy".

The psychologist has many such stories. These are the results of consecutive, long-term work, which was intensively carried out in February:

Free legal consultations, assistance in preparing documents - this service is very important for the beneficiaries of 10 municipalities, where the Women Fund "Sukhumi" operates in the framework of the project "Strengthening of Women's Rights in Western Georgia".

In February, Women Support Centers of Terjola, Tkibuli, Tsalenjikha and Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality) organized group online meetings of women with a lawyer. The beneficiaries of Kobuleti and Chokhatauri Women Support Centers were given individual legal consultations.

38 beneficiaries at the age of 25 - 68 attended the meetings. Such meetings are very useful for them, as they solve their problems.

In January-February, the Monitoring and Advocacy Group conducted a rapid assessment of the needs of the City Hall representatives in the target municipalities (Samtredia, Vani, Terjola, Bagdati, Tkibuli, Tsalenjikha, Zugdidi, Senaki, Kobuleti, Chokhatauri).

The rapid assessment aimed to identify the needs for planning educational trainings in three areas: civic participation, social work, e-services.

City Hall officials supported the initiative of the Women Fund "Sukhumi". The online / phone survey method was used to work with the respondents. A simple online questionnaire was elaborated, which was filled in by 184 respondents.

A rapid assessment has highlighted the issues on which the City Hall representatives need more information, qualification and skills.

As a result of information meetings and cooperation with local self-governments, the identification of cases of violence and application has increased. It is followed by the response, which improves the level of trust before the beneficiaries.

In February, the forum-theater operated both live and online. Rehearsals were held, videos were recorded. The young actors held two performances in the central parks of Kutaisi. Despite the fact that the theatre did not have many viewers, the performance is still important in terms of violence prevention.

Monologues of forum-theater actors were posted on the Facebook page of the Women Fund "Sukhumi", which were introduced to hundreds of people.

It all happens after our meetings. One meeting / training is held per month and from training to training children express their views: what they have learned, what they like and what they worry about, in different ways.

Video clip, prepared by Samtredia Group, information meetings held by Zugdidi and Kobuleti groups and many else: diagrams, letters to parents, comics, videos, paintings, presentations...

We call these events initiative ones, because they reflect our training. The topics of the meetings held in the ten youth centers in February were: conflict, ethics, aesthetics, relationships of parents and children. The activities carried out by the leaders of the centers were also dedicated to these issues.

All activities are posted on the Facebook pages of the Fund "Sukhumi" and schools and the number of views is thousands ... 787 people took part in the activities. The activity would be much higher if the schools had not switched to online teaching. The youth direction of the Women Fund "Sukhumi" is still quite popular and this is the best result of our active work.
