The fund “Sukhumi” annually conducts hundreds of events: an information meeting, a round table, a discussion, a workshop or training. Effective presentation and facilitation is of great importance for success.

In the organization much is being done for institutional development. It was for this purpose that on February 16-17 in Borjomi international trainers conducted training for the Fund's employees on the topic of presentation and facilitation.

During the training, participants shared many years of experience and further enriched it. Each participant of the training evaluated his skills, saw the weak and strong sides of the work, received the necessary advice and motivation for active communication with the audience and more successful result.

From March 31 to April 3 in Borjomi there was held a training with participation of local self-government of 8 cities – Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti and Batumi. The topic of training – “Prevention of domestic violence and assistance of the victim, issues of self-government competence”.

The training discussed following issues: gender and gender violence, mechanisms of legal reaction on facts of domestic violence, state structures – participants of the activities, held against domestic violence and their competence, participation of local government in the activities, directed against domestic violence, rights of victims of domestic violence, guarantees of their social and legal protection.

At the end of the training there were elaborated gender action [plans in the regions, relevant activities were planned, tasks, indicators and responsible persons were identified.

In frames of the project "Empowering Women to Develop New Approaches Relating to the Transformation of the Conflict" in Kutaisi, a three-day training was held at the Hotel “Discovery”. The training covered the following issues: transformation of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, women's peace initiatives, the use of the format of the Geneva talks.

Based on the format of the training, for two days the girls and women worked separately, and on the third day - all together.

Through group and role exercises, simulated presentations, participants tried to think about possible versions of the conflict transformation, about new approaches.

In their opinion, women's peacekeeping resources are inexhaustible, and the information received will increase their motivation, to work more actively to transform the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict.

In frames of strategic plan of strengthening organizational potential, On May 15-16, for the mobilizers of the fund “Sukhumi” WSCs, a training was conducted in Batumi on: “Project design and Management”. The training was built on practical work, the aim of which was identification of own region and preparation of project proposals.
The participants familiarized with fundraising technologies, basic elements of the project, writing structure, usage of logical matrix.
With the help of group work the participants could identify the problem and creation of project goals, tasks and results. As a result of gained knowledge they will independently elaborate projects and will be able to find financial support.

On September 20 in Zugdidi for the members of Club of Voter Women there was held a training on the following issues: elections – basis of democracy, election code of Georgia, political system, programs of political parties, structure, role and meaning, gender and gender equality, support of women candidates.

Each issue caused great interest of the participants. The club members mentioned that discussion of these issues before the elections is timely and useful.

In the Hotel “Riverside” of Kutaisi, a training for the members of Kutaisi GAC was held on: “design and management of the projects”.
Informational part was followed by practical exercises. Participants worked in groups on creation of the projects.
-We studied techniques of project writing, defining of main tasks and goals was important, the training will help in elaboration of the projects – this was evaluation of the training from the side of participants.

There was started a new project of the fund “Sukhumi” – “Active involvement of women in political life of Georgia through democratization of election processes”.

On August 24 there was held the first activity – training for the members of Kutaisi Club of Voter-Women. Experienced trainers familiarized them with lots of interesting and important information regarding election code, collaboration with political parties, gender issues, in terms of supporting women candidates. The women received answers on concrete question. In frames of the project they plan active work.

For the journalists of Ozurgeti, Senaki and Kutaisi, after cooperation with the fund “Sukhumi” gender thematic became “native”. As they say, they must learn more in this aspect.
On September 8 on the initiative of Ozurgeti Gender Media Center there was held a training on the issues of gender budgeting. It was attended by local and Kutaisi journalists.
Training was led by representatives of Democratic Union of Georgia  - Levan Khintibidze and Irakli Papava. Attention was paid on budget system of Georgia regarding program and gender needs of budget, on participation of the citizens in implementation of self-government and role of media in formation of gender budget.
After training there was a surprise from George Girkelidze – head of Gender Media Center – representatives of Kutaisi media, visited monastery of Shemokmedi and inclusively for them, a fountain was turned on in the park of Shemokmedi, opening of which is planned at the end of month.

Fund "Sukhumi" organized a three-day training in Kobuleti, - hotel "Sunrise". It was attended by women's initiative groups of Kutaisi, Khoni and Tskhaltubo. According to the agenda, the participants worked on advocacy: how to identify problems, plan campaigns, develop a slogan, draw clear message-box work on the SWOT analysis.
For them it was interesting the introduction of local self-government authority. Mini-lectures accompanied by practical exercises, role games, interactive work.
On the last day the groups developed action plan of advocating the concrete issues for municipalities. It was revealed that they have a certain amount of experience, which is so important for advocacy.
During three days there was great interest that was recorded during the feedback:
- For me this training was the best way to assess own resources and capabilities.
- It was interesting to learn about the experiences of other municipalities that will be implemented in our work.
On the next step initiative groups will try to advocate different issues in practice.

The conference Hall of Senaki Sakrebulo there was held a training for members of the Club of Women-Voters. This is the first training in the new project of the fund "Sukhumi" - "The active involvement of women in the political life of Georgia through democratization of electoral processes." The project aims to promote the development of the activity of women and enhance their role in the electoral process.

Seventeen participants of the training got acquainted with such topics as the election code of Georgia, the political system of the country, the issue of gender in supporting women candidates. Participants of the training had an opportunity to get answers to interesting questions. They are ready to join the work of the Club and to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the project.
