In order to identify the situation regarding victim’s rehabilitation and assistance, the monitoring group of the Fund "Sukhumi" held an in-depth interview in Zugdidi with a victim of violence and a representative of the Association "Mercury".
In order to obtain quantitative information, focus groups were held in municipalities of Terjola and Lanchkhuti, with the inclusion of representatives of the society, the medical spectrum and the social agency.
The meetings identified the challenges faced by the victim of violence and the subjects included in implementation of law. Recommendations developed as a result of the analysis, will be submitted to the relevant structures.
Representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" met with members of the Gender Equality Council of the municipality, representatives of financial, legal and social services in the meeting room of Tkibuli Sakrebulo. Representatives of the Fund together with the meeting participants worked on the draft Gender Equality Action Plan.
The Council members defined goals and objectives of the plan, and activities to implement it.
The identified issues related to the institutional development of the Council, the introduction of the local statistical base, needs assessment, gender monitoring and analysis, gender budget, citizen’s participation, and gender mainstreaming in service delivery.
Members of the Council emphasized the topics that they consider important for the plan. They said that the plan will be considered in groups, and consultations will be held with qualified non-governmental organizations. The municipality’s experience in terms of the social inclusion strategy and the development of an action plan will facilitate the work on the plan.
Cooperation and consultations between the Fund “Sukhumi” and the Gender Equality Council of the municipality will be continued.

An informational meeting was held with Gender Equality Council members of Chokhatauri municipality. Attendees talked about the necessity of introduction of gender approaches to local self-government. Recommendations of the meeting organizers – representatives of Fund “Sukhumi” regarding the improvement of the developed Gender Equality Action Plan were also discussed.

On the 13th of July Fund “Sukhumi” organized and conducted an informational meeting with members of the Gender Equality Council and local self-government representatives in the meeting room of Chiatura Sakrebulo.
The objective of the meeting was to provide participants of the meeting with the strategic guidance developed by Fund “Sukhumi” and consider the draft Gender Equality Action Plan.

At the initiative of Fund “Sukhumi” an information-consultation meeting was held with members of the Gender Equality Council of Samtredia.
- Gender mainstreaming at local level, basic principles of the Council’s activity, Gender
Equality Action Plan – these issues were discussed at the meeting. Most of the issues concerned the reflection of gender programs in the budget, society’s involvement, and introduction of the networking principles.
The chairperson of Sakrebulo, Nugzar Jamburia, who is also the chairperson of the Gender Equality Council, stressed that consultations on gender issues are important for the Council members. Prior to the approval of the action plan, they are ready to consider it with different groups of society and take into account their needs.

Fund “Sukhumi” organized informational meeting with members of the Gender Equality Council of Kutaisi. A representative of the financial service of the City Hall was invited to the meeting. Participants of the meeting were provided with information about the strategic guidance “Gender mainstreaming in municipalities” elaborated by Fund “Sukhumi”, experiences and challenges of other municipalities.
They discussed Action Plan at the meeting and emphasized that the Action Plan developed by the Gender Equality Council should become the Action Plan of the municipality.

Meeting of the Gender Equality Council of Zestafoni with representatives of Fund “Sukhumi” was held on the 10th of July. It was attended by the Deputy Mayor, heads of the City Hall services for infrastructure, social protection, monitoring and audit, and the financial and budgetary service. Attendees were provided with information on the strategic guidance "Gender mainstreaming in municipalities", developed by Fund "Sukhumi". A draft action plan for gender equality of the municipality and existing municipal programs were discussed. Activities for the elaboration of the final version of the plan were scheduled.

On the 4th of July fund “Sukhumi” conducted an information meeting with the Gender Equality Council of Ozurgeti.
After providing attendees with the agenda of the meeting, there was presented a strategic guidance for local governments “Gender mainstreaming in municipalities”, developed by Fund "Sukhumi". Participants talked about gender policy of the municipality, experiences and challenges, and the work of other Gender Equality Councils. They discussed a draft of the Gender Equality Action Plan and future activities.

After the brief presentation of the strategic guidance for local governments “Gender mainstreaming in municipalities”, elaborated by Fund “Sukhumi”, attendees discussed draft of the Gender Equality Action Plan. Members of the Gender equality Council shared information on current and implemented gender oriented programs and activities. It should be mentioned that Tskhaltubo Municipality is one of the advanced municipalities.

On July 3 representatives of Fund “Sukhumi” met with members of the Gender Equality Council and other self-government officials in the meeting room of Kharagauli Sakrebulo.
Many topics were discussed at the meeting: local gender policy, the role and functions of the Gender Equality Council; activities that can improve the social environment for different vulnerable groups; aspects of gender budgeting and its basis; how gender parameters are reflected in the organizational budget, and program budget; what the creation of a system of gender statistics will bring; elaboration of programs based on needs research; how important is the system of gender monitoring and analysis; awareness of the essence of gender audit; what should be taken into account the Municipality gender equality action plan; importance of cooperation with qualified non-governmental organizations.
The meeting showed the high qualifications of the municipality officials, the gender adviser and Gender Equality Council members, as well as the motivation for introducing new services.
