The last, fourth training was held in Senaki City Hall in frames of the project “Cooperation with local government - for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence”.
The training of the joint project of Senaki Gender Equality Council and the Fund "Sukhumi" was attended by the heads of City Hall services and the staff - 26 people participated.
The topics were important for the participants, and they joined the work with interest.
On October 18, the third training was held as part of a joint project of Senaki Gender Equality Council and the Fund "Sukhumi".
The aim of the project “Cooperation with Local Self-Government - for Gender Equality and Prevention of Domestic Violence” is to inform different structures and actively include them in preventive measures. The third training in Sakrebulo was attended by 25 participants - heads of non-commercial legal entities and kindergarten managers.
In frames of joint project of Senaki Gender Equality Council and Fund “Sukhumi” - “Cooperation with local self-government for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence”, the second training was held for the members of Gender Equality Council.
The participants were active. Topical issues were discussed: gender-based violence and the role of local government in violence prevention and victim assistance, projects and plans initiated by the Gender Equality Council. There was a conversation about the experience gained by the council members in cooperation with the Fund "Sukhumi".
The project: “Step by step – we will build a peace without violence” continues in the public number 6 of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic named after Jiuli Shartava, the project “. The first training lesson was devoted to Peace. During the second lesson, students discussed the topic of conflict. The notion of conflict was defined. Through examples, participants saw and analyzed the positive and negative sides of the conflict.
The project “Step by step - we will build a peace without violence” (funded by the Armenian NGO “Women for Development”) started. The school No 6 named after Zhiuli Shartava of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi) was chosen for the cycle of trainings. The first training took place on September 25-26. The participants were teachers of the school. They are interested in the work, since the topic of the training is relevant: "Training in conflict management at school." At the end of the training, participants noted that this training is very important and they are ready to cooperate in order to prevent conflicts.
In frames of the project “Step by Step – We Will Build Peace without Violence”, the pupils of 6-8 grades of the public school No 6 named after Zhiuli Shartava of Abkazian Autonomous Rebublic (Kutaisi), passed a training lesson dedicated to Peace. They discussed: what is Peace, with what colors and musical compositions are connected with it. They wrote and read small topics: “How I perceive Peace”.
The following lessons will discuss other relevant topics.
Начался совместный проект Совета гендерного равенства Сенаки и Фонда «Сухуми» - «Сотрудничество с местным самоуправлением – для гендерного равенства и превенции насилия в семье».
4 октября был проведен первый тренинг из запланированных в рамках проекта 4 тренинга. В нем приняли активное участие представители мэра в селах и мажоритарии общин. На тренинге были обсуждены актуальные вопросы: гендерное насилие и роль местного самоуправления в превенции насилия и помощи жертве.
The national network for the protection from violence organized a training for officers of the Probation Bureau, which was held by the Fund "Sukhumi" (member of this network) in its office.
The urgency of the problem of violence against women, the mechanisms for implementation of the law, the specifics of working with the victim and rapist, problems, challenges, ways of solution - the training mainly concerned these issues.
The participants got acquainted with the guide of the screening-tool of violence against women. They worked on a practical exercise to identify the victim through a specially developed questionnaire.
Officers of the Probation Bureau will soon be involved in screening program of women prisoners to identify cases of violence, support to the victim and their psycho-rehabilitation.

A training - seminar on: "Instruments of strategic peacemaking for the promotion of women's participation in peacekeeping activities" was held in Erevan. Representatives of partner organizations (including from conflict regions), who work with the support of the Swedish women's fund Kvinna till Kvinna, also attended. Issues of gender-sensitive conflict analysis were discussed. The organizations made presentations of their projects. The Fund "Sukhumi" presented already completed project "Inclusive approaches in the field of human security". Participants familiarized with the inclusive approach, methods and results of work.
The meeting in Yerevan was a space for acquaintance, exchange of experience and future plans.
On April 12-15, in Borjomi, Fund "Sukhumi" organized a training for representatives of 9 municipalities of Western Georgia (Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjola, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti) on: "Comprehensive approaches to the formation of local budgets: gender, social, program and civil budgeting. " Participants discussed gender-related issues, drafted model of local gender programs based on the program budget principle. Especially interesting for them was the practice of budgeting with participation of public.
