In frames of the small project of Pakhulani Women Support Center “For a Healthy Future Generation”, the activities were carried out in Tsalenjikha municipality.
A training was held with the pupils of the school in the village of Lia. Conflict, violence, gender stereotypes, inequality, bullying, prevention - many familiar and unfamiliar words were heard at the training and most import issues were: how to resolve the problems that have arisen in our everyday life.
The second activity took place in the village Pakhulani - a meeting with teachers and students in school with the participation of a conflict expert, lawyer and psychologist. The aim of the meeting is giving information about violence and conflict management
“Medical staff against violence” – in frames of small project, the Women Support Center of Tskaltubo plans the active work with family doctors and nurses in the clinics of the town and communities of Tskaltubo municipality.
In January, informational meetings were held with members of the Gender Equality Council of the municipality and with the heads of medical institutions. As a result of the activities, planned under the project, the medical staff will be actively involved in the local coordination for the identification of violence against women / domestic violence and its prevention.
“Prevention of Domestic Violence in Ozurgeti Municipality” – in frames of this project, the Ozurgeti Women Support Center will carry out active work with teachers and parents in the kindergartens of the municipality. This work helps to identify the facts of violence for a timely response. In frames of the project, informational meetings were held with representatives of the local government and the head of the kindergarten association; project activities were planned. Meeting with parents, provided them with information about municipal programs.
“Harmonious environment for kids” - the goal of a small project of Lanchkhuti Women Support Center is to inform teachers and parents in kindergartens of Lanchkhuti municipality about the issues of violence and bullying, as well as about creation of a group, working on responding to the facts of violence. The project will contribute to improving communication between the staff of preschool institutions, parents and entities of the referral mechanism. In January, informational meetings were held with members of the Gender Equality Council, with the deputy mayor and the head of the social service. They will be actively involved in the process of project implementation.
Women Support Center of Khoni began to operate in two directions.
The project “Local cooperation - prevention of domestic violence and protection to the victims” includes the retraining of representatives of 12 territorial units on theissues of domestic violence. As a result, the groups of response will be created in all units.
The project “Family Without Violence” will contribute to raising the level of civic education of teachers, students and parents of two schools (village Namashevi and School No. 4 of Khoni) on the issues of gender and violence through informational meetings and forum theater performances.
In January, meetings were already held with the target audience. Work is in an active phase.
Zugdidi Women Support Center started implementation of projects. The project “Bullying and protection mechanisms” envisages the work in villages on the conflict separation line - Koki, Orsantia, Akhalkakhati. The goal of the project is to reduce the cases of bullying by creating a group of response. The second project, “Ways to Combat Domestic Violence,” will be implemented in Khurcha, Koki, and Kakhati and will help to reduce cases of domestic violence by raising the legal level.
Information meetings have already been held with deputies of target villages, representatives of the Mayor, and school teachers. An informational meeting of the lawyer and psychologist was also held with local women.
The project of the Women Support Center “Find Yourself” will promote to strengthening of women at risk group of violence. It is planned to conduct a research in two villages of the municipality to study the challenges for the employment of women and the situation for overcoming these challenges. The next step is to increase the awareness of the beneficiaries and their equipment with necessary skills for employment. The project will include a Women's Club, which is created on the basis of the Women Support Center, whose members have already developed a questionnaire and research strategy.
Senaki Womes Support Center started to implement two projects: “Non-Violent Environment for the Future Generation” and Future Without Bullying”. In frames of the first project, the work will be held in two kindergartens of Senaki municipality - informing parents and teachers about non-violent approaches, which contributes to the formation of a healthy generation. The second project includes informing the youth of two schools on the issues of conflict management.
Preparatory meetings have already begun with pedagogical staff of target schools, representatives of the kindergarten association and local self-government.
Poti Women Support Center implements a small project “Way to a Healthy Future”. The project will help to reduce the statistics on drug addiction, ludomania and alcoholism in the municipality of Poti. This will be possible through coordinated work of the experts included in the project: psychiatrists, narcologists, human rights defenders, clergy, representatives of the governmental and non-governmental sectors. The presentation of the project was held in the hall of Sakrebulo, and was aired via local television.
“Non-violent future generation” - this is the name of the small project of Kutaisi Women Support Center, which has already started its activities. The area of project implementation is two schools of Kutaisi: school No. 5 of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic and school No. 17. The aim is to train the pupils of the upper classes in gaining necessary skills for conflict management.
In January, introductory meetings were held with the administration and the teachers’ staff of both schools. The project assistant met with the parents and gave them information about local government services.
