A report for 4 months (February-June) on monitoring violence was made.

52 questionnaires were filled in. 31 questionnaires in Women Support Centers (Kutaisi - 4, Tskaltubo - 4, Khoni - 3, Poti - 4, Senaki - 3 Khurcha/koki - 4, Terjola - 3, Ozurgeti - 3, Lanchkhuti - 3). Psychologists and lawyers filled in 21 questionnaires.

The main cases concerned violence against women - from the side of husband, mother in law, son, daughter, etc.

Forms of violence are: physical, psychological, economical.

Mainlyl, the victims are women aged 35-55 years. Several facts of violence against men and the elderly were also revealed.

Beneficiaries used the services of Women Support Centers:

16 people received consultations from lawyer 29 addressed psychologists, joint consultation of psychologist, lawyer and conflictologist were given to 7 couples. There work was done with the traumas and the adolescents - 3 cases on a whole.

During 4 months, two women were given the status of violence victims with the help of the Fund “Sukhumi”. Two protective orders were issued with the help of lawyer-consultants and mobilizers of Women Support Centers.

The lawyers of the Fund "Sukhumi" held consultations and information meetings in Kutaisi, Ozurgeti and Orsantia (Zugdidi municipality) in June.

At individual meetings, various problems were discussed such as: an illegal additions to the buildings, a call to court for witnesses, domestic violence, arresting and protective orders.

The participants were informed that they can turn on the 112 SOS program in their mobiles, using of which it is possible to contact the police without any phone calls.

The participants of the meetings are pleased and satisfied, as they receive the necessary information from professionals.

Monthly meetings with representatives of crisis families continue. Six meetings were held in June. Among them is two new couples. Conflict situations are caused by different reasons. Duration of work depends on how effectively the parties can manage crisis situations. Consultations are also held with other couples during several months. The elements of stability are felt, but in order to overcome crisis, it is necessary to continue the work. Consultations of the conflictologist and psychologist, mainly concerned the correction of behavior and management of emotions.

A small project of Tskaltubo Women Support Center was completed: 4 trainings were held for the representatives of kindergartens of the municipality on: "Gender, gender violence and bullying".

At the end of the project, a meeting of the psychologist was held with the teachers of the kindergarten No. 2. And on June 25 the final event was held in Sakrebulo - a round table which summarized the activities in frames of the project and received results.

The project was implemented with the support of the fund “Sukhumi” and the Gender Equality Council of Tskaltubo Municipality.

Women Support Centers of the Fund "Sukhumi" held 27 information mobilization meetings in 9 municipalities of Western Georgia (Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjola, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti). Among the topics discussed at the meetings, violence against women / domestic violence and its consequences were particularly important. In addition, the mobilizers together with the participants talked about single assistance programs for IDPs, about social and health programs of the Abkhazian Autonomous Republic, also about municipal social programs. Acquaintance with this information contributes to the solution of problems of people residing in cities and villages.

A small project of Khurcha/Koki Women Support Center goes to its end. The latest activities were held in June – informational meeting in Public Center of Orsantia (Zugdidi Municipality) with participation of women from Koki, Khurcha and Orsantia. In frames of the project there were also held consultations of the lawyer and psychologist. Final activity of the project was awarding the young people – participants of the competition of small video clips on the topic of domestic violence and violence against women.

A small project of Khurcha/Koki Women Support Center goes to its end. The latest activities were held in June – informational meeting in Public Center of Orsantia (Zugdidi Municipality) with participation of women from Koki, Khurcha and Orsantia. In frames of the project there were also held consultations of the lawyer and psychologist. Final activity of the project was awarding the young people – participants of the competition of small video clips on the topic of domestic violence and violence against women.

The interesting competition finished the small project of Poti women support center. On June 8 at the school No 21 of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic, there was a competition in chess and checkers among the pupils of upper grades. The aim of the competition was to popularize a healthy lifestyle among young people and reduce violence. Participants - the winners of the competition received symbolic gifts.

On June 16-17 there was held a training in Kobuleti for the mobilizers of Fund “Sukhumi” Women Support Centers. The topic of training was methodology of project writing.

Particular attention was paid to following issues: - building a "problem tree", highlighting a priority problem out of identified problems and defining a project idea, project strategy, theory of change, stakeholder analysis, risk assessment and management, etc. During the work, interesting questions and approaches were highlighted - this is very important in terms of reducing violence against women / domestic violence.

According to the participants, the training provided them with new skills so that the project ideas would turn into projects, and they could work according to the needs of the beneficiaries.

A small project of Khoni Women Support Center, which aims at prevention of bullying has already been completed. At the end of the project period, a working meeting was held in the hall of Sakrebulo and workshops were held in the villages: Patara Kukhi and Nakhakhulevi. During the meetings there were discussed the types of bullying, reasons and consequences. Participants gave specific examples for discussion.

 In frames of the project, there were also held the performances of the shadow theatre of the fund “Sukhumi”, in IDP village and the pupils of the kindergarten No4.

The project contributes to raising awareness about the problem of bullying and preventive measures.
