What is effective communication, and how to use it during conflict management - this topic was particularly interesting for young people, and this interest was actively expressed during discussions in Zugdidi, Terjola and Kutaisi.
Simulated performances, presented by the participants, it was clear that conflicts in the family, school, street or at work were often caused by improper communication.
“If we learn effective communication, we will be able to manage conflicts much more easily,” – noted the participants of the workshops.
Youth clubs of the Fund “Sukhumi”, traditionally joined the international campaign of “16 active days against gender-based violence”. Informational meetings were held in the village Didi Nedzi (Zugdidi Municipality), Terjola and Kutaisi. An interesting and relevant topic - “Tolerant Society and Connection with Violence” caused an active discussion among the participants. They talked about many things: about the intolerance of society, the problems of minorities, relations between generations. The young people independently chose topics, presented them in an original way, analyzed and made conclusions.
- Protest to violence against women, we want to live in a non-violent environment, this was the attitude of the Fund “Sukhumi” young activists, who joined the campaign “16 active days against gender-based violence”.
Informational meetings, workshops, actions, film screenings and discussions-in such format the meetings were held in 9 municipalities of Western Georgia on the initiative of young leaders. The activities included public schools: No. 31 - Kutaisi, No. 3 - Senaki, No. 2 - Khoni, village Nigvziani (Lanchkhuti municipality), Dvabzu (Ozurgeti municipality), Didi Nedzi (Zugdidi municipality), Gumbrini (Tskaltubo municipality), Metlakhi (Terjola municipality).
Young people are ready to continue discussions on the topic of violence in different formats in future.
Regular meetings were held with the boys in the municipalities of Terjola, Zugdidi, Poti. Majority of the meetings were devoted to gender issues. The boys paid attention to their role in achieving equality. During the analysis of problematic issues, they recognized that it was necessary to change the attitude of men towards women's rights. The exercises were interesting for boys, and contributed to increasing their motivation.
Workshops on the topic: negotiations, facilitation - as a tool for conflict solution were held with youth groups in Khoni, Tskaltubo and Senaki.
The information received at the workshops turned out to be important for young people. During the discussion, they stated that they effectively use facilitation skills in practice. Informing on these issues will reduce the number of conflicts, because as a result of negotiations conflict can be resolved at an early stage.

According to young people, information meetings, discussions, practical exercises should introduce non-violent culture into the consciousness of society.
Discussions will be continued in future, as participants have an initiative to discuss these topics in different classes.

Informational meetings on the topic of gender-based violence and protection mechanisms were held in Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki.
The changes were made in the format of meetings - the role games - imitated scenes were added to the activities. Participants chose various actual topics: bullying, domestic violence, discrimination. These are problems that worry teenagers. And they know that only their inclusion can change the situation for the better.
- What the meaning of negotiations, how to negotiate, so that the matter does not reach a conflict, who is the facilitator - workshops on these issues were held with youth groups in Poti, Terjola and Zugdidi.
During the work the role games and exercises were used. Participants tried to conduct the negotiation process using imitated performances, to master the role and function of the mediator. They believe that the information received will give an opportunity, to effectively negotiate and manage conflicts in practice.
Informational meetings of youth clubs were held in the private school of Terjola and in public schools of Poti and the village Didinedzi (Zugdidi municipality).
Gender-based violence, forms and mechanisms of protection for violence prevention – this was the topic of the meetings.
After discussing the main topic, there were group games, showing the scenes of violence: domestic violence, violence at school, and conflicts between married couples. The teenagers worked independently, some of them participated for the first time. They clearly saw the forms of violence and their negative consequences. They also learned how to protect themselves from violence.
The work with the boys was summarized inKhoni, Poti and Kutaisi municipalities. The main goal of the final meetings is that the boys should prepare reports and show how wellthey understand the issues that were discussed. The openly presented and shared important information. The last part of the meetings was devoted to feedback and group exercises. The boys expressed the desire to share their knowledge to family members and friends.
