One difficult year has passed since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The Women Fund “Sukhumi” once again expresses solidarity with Ukrainian women and their families!

During a year, we helped and continue to help Ukraine, refugees from this country:

In first days of war we collected 10000 GEL and sent parcels.

On March 8, we held an action of solidarity in Kutaisi and other municipalities.

We prepared video clips.

We have helped the women from the occupied city of Melitopol. We sent them 55800 UAH (hryvnia) and there, women volunteers bought food and medicines for the citizens.

In April, when the first refugees from Ukraine appeared in Georgia, we have created a support group and started helping them.

We have distributed packages with the necessary products and hygiene items to 465 beneficiaries (226 women, 170 children and 69 men). 23 families received assistance in payment for accommodation, 11 families received payment for utilities. We help in paying for the cost of surgery, medical procedures, in the purchase of medicines.

92 Ukrainians have already left our country. Now 375 people live in Kutaisi, and the rest live in different municipalities (Zestaponi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Bagdati, Tkibuli, Tsalenjikha, Poti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Samtredia).

Up to 1,300 USD was colleced for the Kovalenko family in September and five people were sent to Ukraine.

92 Ukrainians have already left our country, and 375 people live in Kutaisi, and the rest 99 - in different municipalities (Zestaponi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Bagdati, Tkibuli, Tsalenjikha, Poti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Samtredia. One couple of pensioners in our base are from Tbilisi - we helped them with accommodation costs).

In September, up to 1300 USD were collected in two days for the Kovalenko family, and five people were sent to Ukraine.

We hired two Ukrainian psychologists.  They conduct therapy with our psychologist for everyone, including children.

On our initiative, Kutaisi City Hall issued personal travel cards to refugees. In our office we organized a day of Georgian cuisine for them and then helped them to organize a day of Ukrainian cuisine.

On June 20, the International Day of IDPs and Refugees, they were with us. On August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine was celebrated in Kutaisi.

In Ukraine, according to tradition, the New Year's holiday begins on December 19, the day of St. Nicholas. Therefore, we arranged on this day and gave gifts to the children.

We are actively involved in a large-scale campaign to support Dnipro, a friend city to Kutaisi.

We conduct active information work. A chat for Ukrainians was created - this is a platform for communication, an opportunity to learn about their needs, problems and share their emotions. The chat provides them with all necessary information about courses in Georgian or English, about vacancies, etc.

In March, we started the blog "Women from Ukraine" on our web page https://blogofwomanfundsukhumi.tilda.ws/

The main characters are women from Kherson, Chuguev, Kyiv, Kharkov, Berdiansk, Vinnitsa...There are already 20 sketches in the blog about women who dream of peace and returning home...

This is our small contribution in the support of Ukrainians, we do everything from the heart and soul.

We pray God to give you and all of us strength, wisdom and ability to go through this horrible time together!

Peace will get back to your country, to your sunny cities and families!

Truth is on your side and it will prevail!

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
