Within the framework of the project “Youth Initiatives for a Healthy Environment” Members of Kutaisi Youth Initiative Group spoke about the progress of the project. They noted that they had the logo of the club ready, T-shirts were ordered, and now they are actively continuing to work on the implementation of the prescribed activities.

As for the women's initiative group, they had online meeting with the deputy head of the service for the development of infrastructure, improvement and cleaning of the city of Kutaisi municipality Karlo Kukhianidze. The members of the group received an answer from a competent person to their questions. The representative of the City Hall promised them to check a number of issues and assist in submission with relevant services.

The project implementation period for Kutaisi initiative group has come – during an online meeting, the participants got acquainted with the final version of the project. They planned activities and developed work steps. Each participant was especially active, since the desire of the group members is to successfully complete the project they have developed.

Despite the fact that the meeting of Kutaisi Women Initiative Group was online, it was quite active. The participants reviewed advocacy plans, rules for preparing an application / letter, addressees. They will begin the process of problem advocacy in the near future.

Three members of Kutaisi youth initiative group took an active part in the training, which was dedicated to project writing. Then they shared their knowledge and information with the rest of the group.

The group has actively worked on two projects that should be presented to the competition committee in the near future. This is their first experience and everyone joined with great enthusiasm.

An information meeting with members of the women initiative group was held online. They named the actual problems of the city, selected the most priority ones and developed an advocacy plan. The group will try to solve the problem, and this will motivate group members to work more actively.

How to turn the ideas into reality, how to plan project activities - a training on these issues was held in Kutaisi. It was attended by members of the youth initiative group of Senaki, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khoni.

After getting acquainted with the theoretical materials, the groups worked on the creation of the project. The information and skills obtained during the training will help the youth group in writing working versions of the project and timely submit them to the competition committee.

My expectations were justified, I received a lot of new information, I wish such events in the future also...- this is how the members of Kutaisi youth initiative group expressed their opinions at the end of the training. On June 10, a training on “Analysis of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict” was held for the group.

On June 18, a meeting of Kutaisi Women Initiative Group was held, during which the participants listened to the results of a quantitative research of assessing the level of human security and gender needs. They chose a problematic issue from the recommendation proposals and will begin to work on advocating it. Plans have already been outlined and the members of the group are ready to get involved in the advocacy process.

Two meetings were held in May with members of Kutaisi initiative groups. On May 18, a meeting was held for the women's group and on May 21, for young people. Formation of a new group and the project presentation took place.

The women’s needs research was discussed in the women's initiative group, since the members of the group were included in the process. They noted that they got acquainted with the problems of women living in the city and saw how many families and children need help. During the research, the formats of focus groups, in-depth interviews and questionnaires were used.

Meetings of Women Iitiative Groups and youth were held in Kutaisi on the topic “Gender-Responsive Early Warning System ”. At the beginning of the meeting, the participants of the general training of initiative groups spoke about this system as the best way to avoid conflict (groups were also created in Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, and 2-3 members from each group participated in the training).

Through the presentations, the participants of the meetings got acquainted with the main stages of the early warning system and response to them, with the essence of human security and other important issues.

At the end of the meetings, it was noted that, Kutaisi initiative group together with the initiative groups of other municipalities, will conduct a research of the population human security and gender needs.
