Kutaisi gender media center was opened in November of last year in the office of radio "Dzveli kalaki" and became a place of interesting meetings.
On April 16 is here was held a traditional meeting with journalists who are actively collaborating with the Fund "Sukhumi".
The participants were informed about the work of the Gender Advisory Councils of Senaki, Ozurgeti and Kutaisi. Their were especially interested in "Kutaisi" news, mainly the fact that the City Hall together with the Fund "Sukhumi" has funded a five-month project "Gender education in preschool." This is the first gender project of the City Hall.
The meeting was attended by trainees of radio "Dzveli kalaki" who had a desire to work in the direction of gender.

Kutaisi budget became gender sensitive – this was the main message of the journalists, who gathered in the fund “Sukhumi”. Majority of them actively cooperates with our organization, pays special attention to the coverage of gender issues and tries to influence the stereotypes existing in society. However, at the meeting there were also novices, for whom the work of the Fund "Sukhumi" was very interesting, and they have a desire for further cooperation.

The meeting summed up their experience in gender and outlined plans for a more active work.

With co-financing of Kutaisi City Hall and fund “Sukhumi” there were carried out 4 projects of Gender Advisory Council. One of them “Strengthening of gender aspects in formation of local policy”. In frames of this project there was issued a magazine, which publicizes this work.

On May 24, the fund “Sukhumi” gathered representatives of local media. Journalists familiarized with the information about project of Kutaisi gender Advisory Council (GAC). "Strengthening of the gender aspects for active inclusion in the formation of local gender policies". (The project is co-financing by Kutaisi City Hall and the fund "Sukhumi").

Informational meeting was attended by coordinator of the project and the students, who passed trainings and conduct workshops themselves on gender issues in universities of Kutaisi.

Results of the work of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) and two projects, which were implemented by co-financing of the Fund “Sukhumi” and local government – mainly in this direction a meeting with journalists was held in the Fund “Sukhumi”.
The meeting was attended by the GAC members and participants of the project “Camp of Teenagers – Gender Education for the Young Athletes”.
Journalists got interesting by the work done, future plans and received answers.
The GAC has good informational support from the side of all media sources of Kutaisi, what makes its work more resonant.

The project, in frames of which Gender Advicory Council was founded in Batumi was finished. The GAC is local institutional mechanism for support of gender perspectives.
At the end of project, the journal was issued which summarized project results and familiarized the readers with project duration, implemented ativities, achievements and changes in lives of GAC members and in society.

The journal “Gender Advisory Councils – Raising of Women’s Role for Social Changes in the Region”.
This is a journal – report, which summarized the work of Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Senaki GACs, made visible changes and achievements, meaning and necessity of funded projects.
The most important are the materials about collaboration with local self-government and media, active work for establishing gender components on the local level.

What dangers exist in society, why women are at high risk, what preventive measures should be carried out to enhance human security - these questions were raised by the  guests in live of TV company "Rioni".

The program aired a story. Respondents say that for them it is important to understand the information related to the human safety.

Participants mentioned that increasing the level of safety should begin with an increase of self-awareness of each person and, in addition, requires the responsibility of local government.

The corresponding effect will be obtained by the coordinated operation.

TV Company “Rioni” prepared and broadcasted the TV story, regarding the project of the fund “Sukhumi”: “Studying the experience of Visegrad countries at local level for advocacy of equal, inclusive and democratic governance”. There were held meetings with representatives of all twelve municipalities of Imereti aiming at exchange of information and experience.

Representative of the fund “Sukhumi” familiarized the audience the goals and objectives of the project, its importance at local level for establishment of gender policy, touched the role of municipal gender equality councils and civil participation, as effective instrument for establishment of gender equality.

The representative of international organization PIN (people in need) spoke about social projects, implemented in cooperation with local government and 4 partner organizations and fund “Sukhumi” among them. The audience received information about “civil budget” projects in several municipalities of Georgia, which is introduction of European – Czech practice and promotes to implementation of real self-government.

Monthly electronic informational bulletin was issued in frames of the project “Strengthening of Women’s Rights in Western Georgia”. It reflects the results of the work carried out in September.
Bulletin describes the work of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti and Khurcha Women Support Centers.
