Unsolved conflicts and their influence on women, concrete cases and the problems, being unsolved for years – documentary film of the fund “Sukhumi” underlines importance of women involvement in official negotiations of Georgian – Abkhazian conflict positive transformation.
The characters of the film are the women of conflict zone and border region, who share their pain to the audience. The state officials also speak about necessity of activities, which will somehow make easy the condition of population residing there. The women are more sensitive towards these issues.













On December 30, in the office of the fund “Sukhumi”, the chairperson of the organization awarded the journalists, who won the competition, organized by the fund for regional media journalists - “Journalists – for promotion of non-violent awareness”.
Social responsibility of regional media journalists deserves high evaluation, especially in publicizing such sensitive issue, as gender violence.
Journalists expressed gratitude for the fact that they are considered as reliable partners and their work is appreciated.
“Gender equality means equal representation, equal participation and opportunities for women and men in all spheres of public and private life…” and the achievement of gender equality is one of the key goals and priorities for the development of modern society.
An article of an expert on gender issues, the chairperson of fund "Sukhumi" Alla Gamakharia, published in the newspaper "P.S." on February 12, 2018 starts with the above mentioned words.
The article highlights important points about the need to develop gender policy both at the state and municipal level and active work on the introduction of this policy.

An article of the consultant of Fund “Sukhumi”, Ekaterina Gamakharia with the title “Inclusion of citizens in the management of local budget and improvement of own environment – interesting experience of the “Prague – 10” was published in the newspaper “Akhali gazeti” (Kutaisi).
Fund “Sukhumi’s” and experts’ interest to the Municipality “Prague – 10” was conditioned by the municipality’s experience regarding effective mechanism of citizens’ inclusion in local budget management.
Since 2015, “Prague-10” has started to practice Participatory budget with aim to mobilize citizens on issues of municipal management, which is an effective opportunity for the process of democratic discussion and decision-making.

On the air of the radio "Rioni" a program was held within the framework of the project "Studying the experience of the Visegrad to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic governance at the local level". The purpose of the program is to inform the societies about the project, to reveal the first visible results.
The participants of the program - the project leaders, experts - touched the civil participation in local governance, the importance of introducing gender approaches in practice. Summarizing the work done within the project - getting acquainted with Czech experience in terms of introducing civil involvement, meeting with students from Kutaisi universities - where the visions and aspirations of young people, to participate in the implementation of programs important for society were recorded.
It was also announced a meeting with the Imereti municipalities planned for the near future, where the Georgian and European practices on the implementation of "civil budgets" will be exchanged.
