Today the campaign of "16 active days against violence towards the women" have started Therefore, the mobilization meetings that took place in November were dedicated to this campaign. The mobilizers of the Women Support Centers of Senaki, Kutaisi, Khoni, Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi municipality) and Pakhulani (Tsalenjikha municipality) spoke about the history of the campaign and its importance, as well as about the services existing in concrete municipalities.
Despite the fact that Georgian legislation, international laws and conventions ratified by the state prohibit discrimination, there are still frequent violations of rights and violence against women. The issues that would be advocated were raised at the meetings.
“How to create your own small business” - trainings on this topic were held as part of the small project of Terjola Women Support Center. The participants were provided with the necessary information so that they could improve their economic situation.
Also a dialogue with the preacher was organized. Such meetings give young people the opportunity to create a space for discussion in order to observe events, identify weaknesses and timely respond to problems.
In frames of the project, meetings were held with parents and students in Terjola school number 2 and in the school of the village of Alisubani - with the inclusion of a conflict expert and psychologist of the Fund "Sukhumi". The meeting was in the format of questions and answers. Participants received advices on how to resolve conflict situations.
In frames of the small project of Lanchkhuti Women Support Center, a training was held for representatives of local self-government. Participants obtained information on the issues of domestic violence and referral ways. It was noted that access to this information should have a wide range of societies, especially those people who are required to respond.
The cycle of meetings was continued In kindergartens, with the inclusion of a lawyer, conflict expert and psychologist.
The courses of polymer clay in the day center of the Sukhumi Fund was completed. Project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland in the frame of Development Cooperation Program. Project is realized by HumanDoc Foundation in Partnership with Sukhumi Fund.
The participants presented their work, implemented during whole project period. They briefly spoke about themselves, about positive results and impressions, which they gained during the project, in direction of professional development and personal relationship. The presentation was impressive and was highly appreciated from the side of the representatives of Sukhumi Fund.
The culinary courses were finished in the day center of the Fund "Sukhumi". During the project implementation, the participants studied the technology of preparing different dishes, the rules of keeping the products, studied all necessary details. 24 dishes were prepared. Their work was presented at summarizing lesson, which were highly appreciated by the commission. The participants expressed desire to start a small business in the future -that will significantly improve their lives and give financial profit.
The cutting courses were finished in the day center of the Fund "Sukhumi". During the project implementation, the participants have mastered the technique of sewing and studied all the necessary nuances. Their work was presented at summarizing lesson. Their work was highly appreciated. According to participants, the project helped them to become more motivated. They expressed desire to start a small business in the future, which will significantly improve their lives.
The accounting courses of 2 groups in the day center of Sukhumi Fund was completed. It was implemented in frames of the partner project of the organization “Human Doc Foundation”, “Supporting the Domestic Violence Prevention System”. the project id supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation Development of Poland. The women passed the theoretical bases of accounting by international standards, they were familiarized with accounting regulation in Georgia, organizational legal forms of enterprises, Georgian legislation, accounting methodology, program of Oris. Summary testing was performed and the groups showed positive results.
Features of psychological education of children up to 7 years was the main topic of group meetings of Fund “Sukhumi” psychologist with kindergarten teams in the municipalities of Senaki, Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti and Terjola.
The work with crisis families continues in Khoni, Tskaltubo and Kutaisi. Individual psychotherapeutic consultations are also held. The work of a psychologist contributes to the settlement of family relationships and the prevention of violence.
In October, the mobilizers of Senaki, Kutaisi, Khoni, Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi municipality) and Pakhulani (Tsalenjikha municipality) Women Support Centers held mobilization meetings.
The topic of the meetings is the International Day of Rural Women. This day reminds society how valuable is the work of women living in the villages. The state should realize that a woman, who is socially and economically active will bring great benefits both to her family and to the whole society. Meetings with representatives of local governments were held on this topic, so that the needs of women and girls living in villages become priority for them. The advocacy groups started to work on the issues, raised during the meetings.
The project of Poti Women Support Center “Chain of Violence” is in the active phase. A meeting in the hall of the college “Pazisi” was organized by members of the Women’s Club. Representatives of medical institutions, law enforcement agencies, the gender council and other spheres of society spoke about the reasons of domestic violence and ways to eradicate it. The members of the Women's Club addressed the local self-government with an initiative to include appropriate budgetary resources in strategies and action plans and provide assistance to women victims of domestic violence.
Art Gallery 34 hosted a competition of drawings of the beneficiaries of Poti Day Center. The topic of competition was: “The Family of My Dreams”. The competition showed what does the family of dreams look like for children and how close it is to reality.
TV Company “9th Wave” of Poti prepared the TV story about the meeting in frames of the project: “Chain of Violence”.
