One of the chosen topics was the International Information Campaign “16 Active Days against Gender-based Violence”. The participants watched the electronic presentation "Lessons of the Campaign", which presented the work of the Fund "Sukhumi" in the framework of the campaign. And in the final part of the training, of course, they got acquainted with the technique of holding meetings and various activities.
Then, on November 25, the campaign started. For 16 days, actions, film screenings, discussions, exhibitions, information meetings, presentations, performances were held in Senaki...
The activities of teachers went beyond the school, covered the virtual space, members of society. Schoolchildren walked the streets, held actions, polls.
About 6000 citizens were informed about the action.
“For 16 days, 26 schools, together with the Fund “Sukhumi”, closely cooperated with Senaki interdepartmental commission for the prevention of violence against women, the health and social protection service, the department for protecting the rights of children and their support. The campaign conducted by Senaki interdepartmental commission is a good example for the prevention of violence against women. It would be fine if this mood transfers to other municipalities and the practice of interdepartmental cooperation is actively introduced”, notes Tea Goletiani (member of the monitoring and advocacy group of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”, member of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Prevention of Violence Against Women of Senaki Municipality).
The project is implemented with the support of the organization Brot
