Women Support Centers (530)

Women Support Center these are the branches of the Fund “Sukhumi” in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjola, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi Municipality), Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti, created since 2009. The centers are designed to strengthen women, provide social, psychological, legal assistance to women - victims of violence and to crisis families in a difficult life situation. They promote to the protection of women's rights and ensure their socio-psychological rehabilitation.

Lawyer of Ozurgeti GAC met repatriate Meskhetians in Nasakirali. The residents paid attention to infrastructural problems, mainly rehabilitation of 100 meter road.
Besides of general problems, they have own specific problems too. The lawyer answered the questions. Population were consulted also in the issues of paying compensation to the persons under repression.

Informational meeting of the lawyer of Fund “Sukhumi” was held with representatives of ethnical minorities, who work in Kutaisi in Ukrainian kitchen – “Khutorok”.
They received information about a work of the fund “Sukhumi” and gender advisory council. They had different legal questions and received relevant consultations. There also were the problems of water supply and inner roads.

In IDP collective center “Egrisi” of Senaki an informational – consultative meeting was held, which was attended by 13 citizens. They were presented information regarding priorities and programs of Senaki municipality 2015 budget.
33 families reside in “Egrisi”. It was identified that their main problems are gasification and living spaces into the possession. In order to solve them, it was decided to prepare joint statement. Also individual consultations were given.

Psychologist of the Fund "Sukhumi" Manana Gotsiridze held consultations in Women Support Centre of Kutaisi, Senaki and Khurcha. Totally 42 women attended.
The participants spoke on the topic of fears - fears of the past, anxieties and phobias and how to get rid of them. How can this fear be recognized, anxiety or phobia. During the discussion, the women shared their weathered fears from childhood, as well as everyday fears. At the end they did breathing exercises and they were given recommendations.

Psychologist of the Fund "Sukhumi" Tata Kalandadze held consultations in Women's Support Centre of Tskhaltubo, Poti and Honey on April 2, 8 and 14.
The number of participants was 30, and the theme - self-control.
Participants were informed about the phenomenon of self-control and self-regulation, as well as the skills that helped to define the adequate behavior for the prevention of problems and conflicts.
Despite the age difference, the theme was equally interesting and necessary for all. Participants expressed their views, put questions and received satisfactory answers.

In March legal consultations were held in WSCs of Senaki, Khurcha and Poti.
The topic of the meeting was women’s rights, rights of domestic violence victim and also different issues according the interests of participants.
They were explained signs of violence, means of its expression and the procedures of protection, which are envisaged by the law.

In IDP collective centers of Kutaisi, 6 informational – consultative meetings were held attended by 47 women at age of 20-65, 9 of them was at first time.
The main issue of the meeting was fear – fear of women. Brainshtorming revealed mostly spread fears: fear of staying without money, fear of losing money, of future, loneliness, heatlth, fear for the children, public opinion – what will the people say?
Participants of the meeting received advices and recommendations.
Beside this, 7 individual consultations were made regarding different problems.
There were 5 calls on “hot line”.

Lawyer of  Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council met the residents of Tsereteli street, they were given consultations regarding social, labor and domestic issues.
Also there was prepared statement with the name of residents of Tsutsunava street and submitted to the City Hall of Ozurgeti.

In March, a lawyer of Fund "Sukhumi" held seven informational meetings in Kutaisi Women Support Centre and 6 collective centers on the issue: "Participation of citizens in local government." The meetings were attended by 66 people. Individual consultations on different legal issues were held: neighborly relations, credit commitments, issues of vulnerable people, divorce and its procedures.

On March 17, the lawyer of the fund “Sukhumi” met the population of Senaki, residing on Poti Street. The meeting was participated by 12 citizens (IDPs among them).
They gained information on: “participation of the citizens in implementation of local self-government, publicity of the municipal bodies, discussion and approval of the project of Municipal budget”.
Main problem of the IDPs is resettlement. For 23 years they live with the relatives, but the owner demands leaving the house. The iDPs did not know whom to address. The lawyer explained them about application form, about rating score and other issues.
Individual consultations were also held.
