The next meeting of the Club of Women-Voters was devoted to discussing the changes that are included in the social program of Batumi budget in 2017. Particular attention was sharpened on the funds allocated for persons with disabilities. The meeting was attended by a specialized teacher, who asked about advocacy of student of this category - such child does not receive benefits due to lack of information of the parent, which timely did not pass the necessary documents. The meeting elaborated advocacy plan of the problem, responsible group was created.

Also, a meeting was held with the leading party representative. The memorandum was signed, which will be directed to reflect the needs of women in budget programs and to increasing the number of women on party lists.

Members of the Batumi Club of Voter Women, along with the lawyer of Batumi branch of the Association of Young Lawyers, talked about constitutional changes.

There were discussed the positive and negative aspects of the changes. The meeting also identified local issues that require advocacy. Ways of solving problems were outlined.

At a meeting of the Club of Women Voters was continued discussions on the issue, which was raised at the last meeting-problem of overlapping roof and basement pollution in the flat №107 on the Lermontov street. Invited guest - the representative of the union of corps told about existing programs and ways of solving problems.

At the meeting, there was planned inclusion of the Club of Women-Voters in the campaign of "16 active days against violence towards the women." Concrete measures were planned.

The meeting was attended by the member of Kobuleti Sakrebulo Lia Shakarishvili, who expressed a desire to become a member of the club. She is interested in the formation of gender equality council in the City and regarding this matter she had a consultation with members of Batumi Gender Advisory Council, which is now joined with the club of women voters.

On May 16, the Zugdidi Club of Voet Women held a regular meeting. The head of the Kutaisi branch of Georgian Young Lawyers Association was invited, who talked about issues related to constitutional changes.

The participants of the meeting expressed their views and developed recommendations, talked about the strengths and weaknesses of the Club, opportunities and challenges.

Members of the Club also listened to information about the establishment of the Gender Equality Council - the issue has already been resolved and the Council will start functioning in June.

In connection with the forthcoming elections to the local self-government, the regular meeting of the Kutaisi Club of Voter Women was attended by Marina Shalamberidze, member of the Central Election Commission, Gogi Tsulaia, chairman of the political party “Free Georgia”, and Nino Dolidze, an activist of the party.

Marina Shalamberidze spoke about issues of interest to women - precinct election commissions and their work, how an individual can register - an ordinary citizen and stand for election independently.

Mr. Tsulaia appealed to women, to become party members, to be more active and to take part in elections of local self-government.

The regular meeting of Ozurgeti Club of Voter Women summed up the activities of the Club. Factors that hampered the work were identified. The emphasis was on future plans.

In one part of the meeting, the lawyer acquainted members of the Club with the changes in the country's constitution, this caused an active discussion. The need for a public discussion of these changes was recorded.

Informational meetings of the youth clubs were held in the Women Support Center of Khoni, School No7 of Poti and No 1 of Tskaltubo.

Topic of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict was interesting not only for the young IDPs, but also for the local youth. They were involved in the discussion, remembered real histories, spoke about conflict solution, negotiations, economical development, dialogue with the young generation.

“After such meetings we have more interest towards this issue and a wish to be more involved in the discussion. We can start relation with the new leaf”. – mentioned the young participants of the meeting.

On February 10 in Zugdidi there was held an ordinary meeting of the Club of voter women. The meeting discussed the issue of creation of Gender Equality Council in local self-government. The fund “Sukhumi” tries to promote this process.

One of the issues in the agenda was discussion of local social problems and the ways of tehir advocacy. During the meeting there were elaborated recommendations for submission in regional organization of acting political parties.

After the meeting of the club there was held a meeting with the representative of one party.

Meetings of the youth clubs in Tskaltubo, Senaki and Poti were devoted to actual issues – norms of ethics and esthetics, sex education and formation of personal culture - as a tool for violence prevention.

The young men listened with interest to the assistant of Fund "Sukhumi”, to each other, and thus searched for answers to the questions, the truth, the way to solve problems.

Discussions were interesting and active. Participants talked about the prevention of violence. This is more or less connected with the rules of ethics and esthetics, with the proper sex education and personal culture.

Opinions of the participants:

“Interesting, actual, unusual issues were chosen, which we could not discuss anywhere. That is why I like meetings in youth clubs”.

“It is good that stereotype that our generation chooses society, without violence is ruined”.

On October 21 a meeting of the Club of Women-Voters of Kutaisi was held. The first question was information about the first round of parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by members of the club, the majoritarian candidate Lia Gvenetadze and women who actively participated in the work of election commissions. They spoke about their election experience.

At the club, it was noted that women for the given period also are not represented in the Parliament properly. Therefore, according to them, more work should be done for election in 2017 to the local government to have more women at decision-making level.

The second issue at the club was the selection of problems for advocacy. The club has many years of experience and hope that the advocacy process will be completed efficiently.
