The advocacy group of the Women Fund "Sukhumi" held an information meeting in Vani City Council, which was attended by women living in the municipality, school teachers, a social worker and employees of the children's department of the City Hall.

The meeting discussed the elimination of violence against women / domestic violence and assistance to victims of violence. Participants received information about a research that was conducted in Vani municipality and concerned the promotion of women's employment - what services exist in terms of childcare and what should be improved.

Participants also learned about the importance of early intervention in behavior correction of the perpetrator and existing best practices.

The participants noted that such researches are important for the advocacy of these issues.

She says that anyone can become successful. The main thing for this is for people to leave the comfort zone and pass the way, that will lead to success.

"Life is like riding a bicycle. If you want to keep the balance, do not stop, the mistake is precious, because it shows you new opportunities".

She loves handicrafts. She makes necklaces, brooches, felt paintings and other beautiful accessories. She makes everything with love, so these things are exclusive and original. "When I make something, I put my whole soul into it. At first I did not even think about selling it, I just enjoyed it".

"When I presented one of my friends with the necklace I made, at one of the meetings I found out that many people liked it: “where did you buy it”?, “It is so good”, “I would buy it”...

In June, traditionally, trainings will be held in the Youth mpowerment Centers of 10 municipalities. This time we will speak about four meetings: work with the youth of Tsalenjikha, Vani and Bagdati municipalities took place online and the training in Zugdidi was live, active, full of exercises.

72 participants of the four meetings were actively involved in the discussion of topical issues - conflict escalation and gender-based violence. For majority of them, "escalation" was an unfamiliar word, but they remembered it at once.

Girls and boys discussed, argued, expressed their opinions. After the trainings, they began to conduct the so-called initiated events - in this way they demonstrate their knowledge and skills to their peers and this is the best result of working with young people.

A small, warm story about the Georgian feast, friendship, support...

Reflection of one special day of the Women Fund "Sukhumi"... The day when we received Ukrainian women and children in our office, laid Georgian table was, where the dishes, prepared by us were presented. We showed them warmth and love ... The women thanked us, with tears and from the bottom of their hearts...Our organization actively works with these women, helps and takes care of them...

Discussion of cases of violence, analysis of specific cases make mobilization meetings relevant. During the information exchange, new cases are identified.

Women activists, together with the mobilizers of the Women Support Centers, try to help everyone who does not yet have courage and is in conditions of violence. They look for ways to continue working with them. Those who address the mobilizers for help are offered various services.

Such meetings were already held in the Women Support Centers of Senaki, Tsalenjikha, Khurcha (Zugdidi municipality). In response to identified cases, the psychologist systematically works with three women. Two families were redirected to the Rehabilitation Center of the Women Fund "Sukhumi", where women and children will pass rehabilitation.

Why did I join the project? What experiences can I share with IDP women and girls? What will I get as a result of participation in the project?

These questions are answered by the leaders of the IDP Women Initiative Groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki and Zugdidi. They mention the importance of their inclusion in the project, they sharpen the attention to the fact that women activists are interested in solving the problems of IDP women and girls, improving their living conditions. Trainings, which are held within the framework of the project, contribute to the increase of their knowledge and competencies.

What does UN Security Council Resolution 1325 mean? Why is it important to localize the National Action Plan at the local level?

These issues were discussed at online training, which was attended by members of IDP Women Initiative Group of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki and Zugdidi.

The participants got acquainted with the content of the Resolution and the National Plan. During group work, questions about the tasks and activities planned at the local level were discussed. After the training, the participants will be actively involved in the process of localization of the National Action Plan.

A training on: "one window" principle, methodology, possibilities and prospects was held for the members of the IDP Women Initiative Group

Through the presentation, the participants understood what the “one window” principle means, got acquainted with the advantages of this method: what is interest of this process and how effective it is for problem solution, why it is interesting for IDPs, for different structures, who is the motivations etc.

Practical exercises, which were used during the training, ensured the maximum inclusion of participants.

The discussion showed that participants can practically work according to this method, they can avoid visits from cabinet to cabinet with documents and they do not have to prove the urgency of their problem to government representatives.

Members of Senaki IDP Women Initiative Group actively participate in the training cycle to raise their competence.

During the feedback at the planned June meeting, the members of the group assessed how useful is the training for them and how they use the acquired knowledge in practice.

According to the participants, they had the opportunity to learn important things regarding various topical issues: peacebuilding, gender-based violence, forms of civic engagement, networks, coalitions... By participating in the trainings, they acquired new skills and will work actively so that the problems of IDPs appear into the municipal programs and contribute to the implementation of the National Action Plan of UN Resolution 1325 at the local level.

The meaning and objectives of the “one window” principle was discussed at a training for the IDP Women Initiative Group in Kutaisi.

This principle is an opportunity to simplify bureaucratic barriers and solve problems rapidly.

The participants received information about the importance of the meeting, organized according to the "one window" principle. The participants realized why this method is the best and how to conduct a meeting, in order to get the desired result.
