Informational meeting in Kutaisi

Representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” met the IDPs, residing in collective center of the former hotel “Khvamli” and familiarized with their problems.
IDPs say that the building is not suitable for living. Their main prob;lem – resettlement, but they have no information, when this problem will be solved.
The preliminary meeting the residents addressed the Ministry of IDPs and Resettlement, in order to define the condition of the building. Special commission carried out expertise, but there is still no answer.

19-th meeting of Senaki GAC

  
Most part of ordinary meeting of Senaki GAC was devoted to elaboration of the project of city gender policy. As a result of active discussion, members of the council defined main recommendation for involving  in the plan of gender policy, including goals, necessary actions, terms and sources of funding. After elaboration of the final version of the plan it is planned to familiarize the persons, taking decision for envisaging elaborated recommendations in the local budget for 2016.
Thus was carried out discussion of the issues of the planned meeting of the GAC with Parliament Gender Equality Council. members of the council were glad to learn about possibilities of participation in ordinary meeting in Parliament and are ready to submit their suggestions.

GAC in Ozurgeti

  
Ordinary meeting of Ozurgeti GAC under active discussions, recommendations elaborated as a result of research were discussed. They will be reflected in the plan of gender policy of Ozurgeti.
Project of gender policy is almost ready and will be submitted to the local self-government. This is the basis of the fact that revealed gender needs as a result of research, will be reflected in the budget of 2016.

Informational meetings in local self-government of Batumi

  
Working groups of Batumi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) conducted meetings with representatives of Sakrebulo and City Hall on: joint projects, suggestions of the GAC for 2016 budget for integrity of gender issues, preparation for the planned meeting in Parliament.
By the words of self-government chairpersons, they are ready for collaboration. One of the issues discussing of which is demanded by the GAC is creation of gender commission or its integration in the activities of other commissions.
On the meeting there was planned conducting of two trainings for the staff of self-government on the issues of education and information regarding mechanisms of legal assistance of domestic violence victims.
Working groups worked on the issues of gender analysis of the budget and package of suggestions and recommendations, prepared by the GAC, which will be submitted to Sakrebulo for the beginning of the work on budget.

Meeting of Kutaisi GAC

 
Ordinary meeting of Kutaisi GAC was held. Main part of the meeting was devoted to  the work on recommendations, on the basis of which a model of gender policy should be created. Participants of the meeting were actively involved in discussion. Recommendations touched almost each spheres: education, culture, sport infrastructure. Particular discussion was held regarding gender budget. Despite different points of view, interesting suggestions were announced, which will have recommendation character and will find reflection in document of gender policy.
In the second part of meeting the project was evaluated, which was implemented by gender council “Camp for Teenagers – Gender Education for Young Athletes”. During discussions of the results it was mentioned that this project will promote to effective cooperation of the local government and GAC in future.
