The meeting with people living near te conflict dividing line was held in the village Khurcha (Zugdidi municipality). The meeting was attended by residents of different villages: Koki, Khurcha, Orsantia, Kakhati, Didi Nedzi - including IDPs.
The meeting was noticiable with its active participants. A working group has been formed in Zugdidi municipality to localize 1325 UN Resolution. The group members familiarized the participants with the working version of the “Roadmap”. Several problems were identified which will be considered at the meeting of the working group.
The meeting was held in frames of the project “Strengthening the capacity of regional and local administrations in processes of localization of the National Action Plan of Resolution 1325 of The UN Security Council and activation of dialogue and the participation of women, including the most marginalized ones, in these processes”.
The project is being implemented by the Coalition Union - the Association of Women IDPs “Consent” (Tbilisi), the Women's Information Center (Tbilisi) and the Culture and Humanitarian Fund “Sukhumi” (Kutaisi).

Separated, societies, alienated generations, restoration of trust, prospects for communication as a result of conflict... These and other issues were discussed by people gathered in the Fund of Women Entrepreneurs. The actual topic of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict and the role of women in its transformation was presented for discussion.
The reports clearly showed the main challenges: problems in official negotiations, difficulties for today, the relevance of public diplomacy and participation of women in peace processes. During the discussion, the guests voiced suggestions and recommendations that can contribute to the integration of IDPs, the restoration of relations between the parties, the transformation of conflict and more recognition of women's opportunities...
The meeting was held in frames of the activities of the Coalition "Woman and peace". The Coalition included 10 women NGOs from 4 regions of Western Georgia (Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria, Ajaria).

The project “Step by Step – We Will Build Peace without Violence” was completed with an exhibition-competition of paintings on the topic of peace at public school No. 6 named after Zjiuli Shartava of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi).
The competition was attended by students of almost all classes of the school. Some of them prepared several paintings.
The participants were divided into three categories: the first-third, the fourth-seventh, the eighth-eleventh grades. owners of the first, second and third places out of three groups were awarded certificates and gifts. Symbolic gifts were given to those project participants who conducted lessons with pupils of different classes.

In December, in frames of the monitoring of “Law on elimination of domestic violence/violence against women”, an in-depth interview was held with the investigator of Kutaisi City Court and the prosecutor of Kutaisi District Prosecutor’s office. Information was also requested from the victim status identification group and the work of the legal bureau in terms of inclusion in the issues of domestic violence. The monitoring revealed issues that require further improvement.
The representatives of the prosecutor’s bureau and the legal bureau expressed an initiative, to carry out work on the prevention of violence against women / domestic violence jointly with the Fund “Sukhumi”.


What is peace? What can we do for the peace?
The ordinary meeting of Khoni Women’s Club was devoted to peace issues. People of different ages, genders and professions expressed their opinions. Many problems were revealed: the “language of hatred” during the election campaign, bullying, migration of women and the problems caused by it, conflicts between generations ...
It was said that it is possible to make influence on all problems - in the areas in which we work, in families, in our own world. The main thing is not to be indifferent, not to point to another, and to understand our mission ...
The Khon Women's Club has produced a video on peacemaking. The video also includes the episodes from informational meetings.

The Chairperson of Fund “Sukhumi” Mrs. Alla Gamakharia took part in the 10th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) Leading the Way Towards a Democratic European Future, held on 10-12 December 2018. Fund “Sukhumi” is a delegate of the EaP CSF. The event was organized in Parliament of Georgia and in Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi.
The Annual Assembly focused on how to proactively address the evolving political situation in the Eastern Partnership countries and in the EU. Representatives of the CSOs in the region elaborated on how they can contribute to furthering sustainable democratic development and how civil society can engage with citizens as a whole to counter the authoritarian backlash evident in parts of the European continent.
Participants of the Assembly voted for the new EaP CSF Code of Conduct and elected the arbitration body.
The international campaign of “16 active days against gender-based violence” was completed. The Fund “Sukhumi” is included in it annually. This year the slogan of the campaign was: “Stop violence in the world of work!”
In frames of the campaign, from November 25 to December 10, more than 100 activities were held with the inclusion of 1500 people in 9 municipalities.
The campaign started with a Facebook action. Then it was followed by: informational meetings with women, local governments, young people, teachers, psychological and legal consultations, sport tournaments, trainings for medical personnel. There were presentations of the Fund "Sukhumi" forum-theater. The informational leaflets and psychological advice to women were printed and distributed.

Fund "Sukhumi" organized a round table in the City Hall of Lanchkhut municipality on the topic: "Violence against women / domestic violence - the work of the referral mechanism: challenges, problems, ways of solution."
The meeting was attended by: representatives of local government, police, NGOs working in this direction, as well as doctors, kindergarten and school teachers, methodologists, psychologist, and women activists.
The participants spoke about referral system, challenges and real ways of solving problems, the role of the Gender Equality Council and local programs for the prevention of violence and assistance to the victim.
