One of them said that the Georgian woman traditionally obedient to her husband and the husband is the ruler. When this "balance" is broken, resistance and conflict starts.
Young people also talked about the mechanisms to resolve the situation. According to them, since equality is violated, there is a victim and rapist. So the key to resolve conflicts they see in gender equality.
Participants of the discussion noted that it is impossible to destroy the stereotypes in one day. It is not enough one-time events for that. We need to realize that gender equality will reduce the risk of family violence, and the process should include the whole of society.

Personal values, mentality and their impact on domestic conflicts, discussion of this issue caused strict discussions on workshops for the youth in conflictology. The opinions were divided into two: one part thinks that Georgian mentality promotes to development of domestic violence. The argument was the fact that according to mentality, headship in the family is entrusted to the man, and he cannot accept the fact that his rights areabolished - this fear is so strong that all forms of violenceare used.
According to another part of the young people, the mentality is not guilty in everything. Often family members do not know each other, do not respect the values of each other - it promotes to development violence.
Despite the difference of opinion, it was fixed that the meeting of this type contribute to formation of correct thinking in young people and decreasing the risk of family conflicts.

Migration of women is in close connection with family conflicts. This question was raised by the participants during the workshop in conflict management, which was held together with the group of young people in Poti, Zugdidi (Koki) and Kutaisi. By the opinion of participants, while speaking about violence, we mean women migration, as in Georgia, coming out of the social condition, each tenth woman is potential victim of violence.

The participants mentioned that the question is painful for everyone and finding the ways out is too difficult, as the reason is so global, that its solution is impossible in nearest future.

After discussion the participants agreed that woman, who goes abroad for work, is already a victim and first of all she needs support from the side of family members, in order to avoid psychological problems.
