What dangers exist in society, why women are at high risk, what preventive measures should be carried out to enhance human security - these questions were raised by the guests in live of TV company "Rioni".
The program aired a story. Respondents say that for them it is important to understand the information related to the human safety.
Participants mentioned that increasing the level of safety should begin with an increase of self-awareness of each person and, in addition, requires the responsibility of local government.
The corresponding effect will be obtained by the coordinated operation.
TV Company “Rioni” prepared and broadcasted the TV story, regarding the project of the fund “Sukhumi”: “Studying the experience of Visegrad countries at local level for advocacy of equal, inclusive and democratic governance”. There were held meetings with representatives of all twelve municipalities of Imereti aiming at exchange of information and experience.
Representative of the fund “Sukhumi” familiarized the audience the goals and objectives of the project, its importance at local level for establishment of gender policy, touched the role of municipal gender equality councils and civil participation, as effective instrument for establishment of gender equality.
The representative of international organization PIN (people in need) spoke about social projects, implemented in cooperation with local government and 4 partner organizations and fund “Sukhumi” among them. The audience received information about “civil budget” projects in several municipalities of Georgia, which is introduction of European – Czech practice and promotes to implementation of real self-government.

The story in the air of “Dzveli Kalaki” tells about network meeting of Gender Advisory Councils (GACs) of Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti. The meeting discussed results, achieved in frames of the project. It was mentioned that they have reached the main goal – it was implemented legislative change and legalization of gender councils at local level.
As the GAC members mention, in these three cities, there is a good background for establishing gender prospects and it will be an example for other municipalities. as for the GAC members, they are ready to share their experience with colleagues from other self-governments.
