The international campaign of “16 active days against gender-based violence” was completed. The Fund “Sukhumi” is included in it annually. This year the slogan of the campaign was: “Stop violence in the world of work!”
In frames of the campaign, from November 25 to December 10, more than 100 activities were held with the inclusion of 1500 people in 9 municipalities.
The campaign started with a Facebook action. Then it was followed by: informational meetings with women, local governments, young people, teachers, psychological and legal consultations, sport tournaments, trainings for medical personnel. There were presentations of the Fund "Sukhumi" forum-theater. The informational leaflets and psychological advice to women were printed and distributed.

Fund "Sukhumi" organized a round table in the City Hall of Lanchkhut municipality on the topic: "Violence against women / domestic violence - the work of the referral mechanism: challenges, problems, ways of solution."
The meeting was attended by: representatives of local government, police, NGOs working in this direction, as well as doctors, kindergarten and school teachers, methodologists, psychologist, and women activists.
The participants spoke about referral system, challenges and real ways of solving problems, the role of the Gender Equality Council and local programs for the prevention of violence and assistance to the victim.
The joint project of Senaki municipality City Hall and the Fund "Sukhumi" - "Cooperation with local government - for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence" was completed. 4 trainings were conducted in frames of the project, a “Situational analysis of the problem of violence against women / domestic violence in Senaki municipality” was prepared and published.
On December 3, the presentation of the project was held in the conference hall of Sakrebulo. The meeting participants talked about the project’s activities and results, one of the activities was publication of the situational analysis.
The project will contribute to the prevention of violence against women / domestic violence, the inclusion of local government in the identification and reaction to the cases and implementation of legal eligibility.
At the end of the meeting, the attention was paid to future cooperation and support for the International Campaign "16 active days against violence and violence against women."
In November, focus groups were held in the municipalities of Senaki and Tskaltubo, with school teachers, also an in-depth interview was held with the psychologist and the representative of mandatory service. Mandators are the people who keep order in school).
The meetings revealed that teachers mention an important role of mandators, and believe that this is one of the basis in the process of preventing and eradicating violence.
The meetings took place in frames of the monitoring of the “Law of Georgia on the Elimination of Domestic Violence / Violence Against Women, Protection and Assistance to the Victim”.
During the last months, in the public school No 6 named after Zhiuli Shartava of the Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi), 10 lessons were held according the textbook “Teaching the Conflict Management at School”. It was the project of the Fund “Sukhumi” - “Step by step - we will build peace without violence”, which was carried out in cooperation with the NGO “Women for development” - Armenia.
On November 12 the final activity was held at school. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the school and the Fund "Sukhumi". The school received textbooks, and project participants received certificates and gifts.
On the basis of these textbooks the "Peace Club" was created in school. Club members themselves will conduct lessons with the pupils on the topic of conflict management and peace.
In Batumi, in the office of the NGO “Center for Education, Development and Employment”, a regular meeting of members of the Women's Coalition "Woman and Peace" was held: Cultural-Humanitarian Fund “Sukhumi”, (Kutaisi, Imereti), Teachers’ Union “Education and Universe” (Kutaisi, Imereti), Fund of Women Entrepreneurs (Kutaisi, Imereti), Women's Club (Khoni, Imereti), IDP Women’s movement “Imedi” (Zugdidi, Samegrelo), Association “Mercury” (Zugdidi, Samegrelo), Education and Development Center “Toliskuri” (Khobi, Samegrelo), Women civil association (Ozurgeti, Guria), Center of Education and Equality (Ozurgeti, Guria), Batumi Center for Education, Development and Employment (Batumi, Adjara).
The main goal of the Coalition is to promote the culture of Peace.
The meeting discussed the organizational issues of planned activities; presentation of financial and narrative reports, also there was elaborated a concrete plan of conducting public meetings for each organization and other issues.
It was decided: to increase the recognition of the coalition, to develop a special logo; to create a “closed group” on Facebook, and also to actively post information materials about the work of the coalition.
According to the proposals of the coalition members, amendments have been made to the Regulation of the Coalition "Woman and Peace". Specific topics and dates were defined for conducting meetings with society by the coalition members in frames of the project.
On November 15, a meeting with civil society was held in the village Lia (Tsalenjikha municipality). The meeting was attended by directors and teachers of schools ofthe villages Chkhoushi, Pakhulani, as well as by women activists. Representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" familiarized the audience with the Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council and the National Action Plan for 2018-2020. The purpose of the working meeting was to identify local problems related to border villages and the ways of solution for inclusion in the action plan of gender equality and local municipal programs.

Another civil forum would was held in frames of the project “Strengthening the capacity of regional and local administrations in processes of localization of the National Action Plan 1325 The UN Security Council and activation of dialogue and the participation of women, including the most marginalized ones, in these processes”.
This time, representatives of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Province, the City Hall and Sakrebulo, the information sphere, civil society activists, women and girls, living in the border villages gathered in the conference hall of Tsalenjikha Municipality.
Participants listened to a review of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the National Action Plan of 2018–2020 for the implementation of UN Resolutions. Then there was a discussion of what were the needs in Tsalenjikha Municipality for women and girls affected by the conflict and living near the conflict territorry and how should these needs be reflected in local programs.

The chairman of Tskaltubo Sakrebulo Grigol Ivaneishvili spoke about the importance of cooperation between the non-governmental sector and state, as well as the need to work in the gender direction.
During the group work, the forum participants expressed an opinion of how to implement an Action Plan of UN Resolution 1325 at local level for 2018-2020 in gender equality plan of the municipality.

The civil forum was held in the meeting hall of Zugdidi Municipality City Hall. The forum was attended by representatives of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Province, Zugdidi City Hall and Sakrebulo, also the representatives of non-governmental sector and civil society activists.
“We have created a Gender Equality Council, the goal of which is formation of effective gender policy. Your inclusion in this process is very important, and we are ready for cooperation, ”said the chairman of Sakrebulo - Mamuka Tsotseria.
The forum participants discussed how the implementation of the National Action Plan of UN Resolution 1325 should be done at the local level reflecting the needs of girls and women living with a conflict dividing line. At the end of the forum, a working group of 10 people was created, which will continue to work in this direction.
