Up to 70 people gathered in Kutaisi, at a conference organized by the Fund “Sukhumi”.

This was a summing up of the annual work of the Clubs of Voter Women of eight cities of Western Georgia - Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Khobi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Batumi. Club activists, representatives of political parties and local self-government participated in the conference.

The main topics of the conference were: work with local self-government and social advocacy; Women candidates - rights, reality, challenges; A strategy for dialogue between women and political parties.

The conference created a space for sharing experience, remembering what was done, fixing the challenges and looking for ways to solve existing problems.

The event was held within the framework of the project "Active inclusion of women in the political life of Georgia through the democratization of electoral processes."

Concrete example was given during of meeting of Senaki Voter Women Club – the young widow, with two children was left without social allowance with no reasons.
This and many other questions werte discussed by the club members and the guests – chairperson of the social service – Irma Murgulia and the main specialist – ninoZhvania.
Club members were interested in many issues and received interesting and necessary information.
As for the young lady, her case will be revised and solved in near time.

The fund “Sukhumi” actively cooperates with Kutaisi Universal Library and participates in different activities.
On May 25 the competition, carried out in the library No 13 “Book from the focus” was finished.
Receipt of materials lasted during a month and tens of participants took part in it.
Different winners were revealed. 11 year old Lolita Khachaouridze won in the nomination “humor photo”. She was awarded by the prize from one of the supporters. 
  

Starting from January, 6 information meetings with representatives of local government in the 6 cities of Western Georgia were held in Kutaisi, Tskhaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi. They were provided with information about the work of the Women's Support Centers, future plans.

Mobilizers and activists of the Women's Support Centers visited Sakrebulo meeting, met with innovations, initiatives of local government.

Representatives of Senaki Women's Support Center were invited to the meeting, initiated by the Governor with civil advisers. They also presented at the presentation of the environmental project, which was held in Senaki Municipal Gamgeoba.

Kutaisi club of women voters actively cooperate with gender advisory council (GAC), created by the fund “Sukhumi”.

On November 28 there was held special meeting. During the meeting the members of GAC together with moderators of the club discussed the question of creating gender equality council at Sakrebulo, according to the law. The was conversation regarding necessary procedure, ways of lobbying.

During the meeting GAC members fixed the support of the campaign of 16 active days against gender violence.

"Not one of our acquaintances a victim of this disease. Positive coming from Mrs. Lali, is a direct message of those who have lost hope for a cure. I welcome activities of Gender Advisory Council (GAC). Our municipality will be an example to support the initiatives of the GAC - said the head of administration of Ozurgeti Municipality - Merab Chanukvadze.
On the background of such emotional speeches there was a presentation of the project "Cancer is not a verdict" in the boardroom of Sakrebulo with participation of  municipality officials and members of Guria Regional GACs.
The project envisaged psychological consultation. The idea belongs to Lali Sichinava (Member of Sakrebulo, Deputy Chairman of GAC).
"Cancer is not a final verdict. It can be overpowered and I am a living example of this. The main thing is inner human spirit and support from family and society, "- said Mrs. Lali.
The project is funded by Gamgeoba of Ozurgeti municipality. It will include 50 beneficiaries from 12 villages.

In the restaurant "Amirani" an evaluation workshop was held, at which representatives of partner NGOs and local authorities, fund activists and beneficiaries assessed the work of the Fund "Sukhumi".

The focus of the work was directed to the relevance of the organization's activities; achievements and changes seen by partners; vision of the potential of the organization and the desire to maintain the dynamics of institutional growth; The challenges for which the efforts of the Fund "Sukhumi" are needed.

The leaders of the fund sincerely thanked the partners and beneficiaries. It was said that it is very important to look at your work "from outside" and to hear advices for consideration in the future strategy.

In May 1-20 Batumi GAC with support of the Fund "Sukhumi" conducted a research the aim of which was - identifying gender needs of different social groups in order to give the GAC possibility to prepare proposals and recommendations for consideration in future budget 2016. 200 respondents were Interviewed, 5 focus groups were held, which covered: large families and single mothers, women - socially vulnerable and IDPs, youth and small entrepreneurs, ethnic minorities. 8 in-depth interviews were held with industry experts.
The information makes it possible to identify areas where it is more efficient to direct local resources for support of groups with special needs.

In Batumi Center of Democratic Engagement the meetings with working group of Batumi GAC was held, who carry out gender needs research of local social groups. Once again was proved the schedule of the research, deadlines of submitting the report was defined. Council members have a hope that, identification of the problem will be held as it was in previous year for further collaboration with local government and their reflection in local budget.
The council tries to make its share in local civil groups support. The proof of that are the projects, submitted by the fund “Sukhumi” co-financing in the contest of “Free initiatives”. We are glad that self-government agreed to finance one of them.

In Tbilisi, there was held a ceremony of awarding the International Children's Drawing Contest "Draw Me the World", in which the Fund "Sukhumi" took part and presented works of young artists from the schools of Kutaisi №6, №30, №15, №21, №11.

As a result of the competition, winners from the school № 30 - Nino Vasilchikov and Georgi Zosiashvili, were awarded diplomas.
