The activities carried out within the framework of the National Action Plan of the Security Council "On Women, Peace and Security" for 2016-2017 and aspects of a new action plan these topics were discussed at a consultative meeting in Kutaisi - Bagrati Hotel.
The meeting was led by Sofo Japaridze, an assistant to the prime minister, chairman of the interdepartmental commission working on gender equality, violence against women and domestic violence, and Anna Pashalishvili, representative of the UN Women's Organization to Georgia.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” and other organizations working on these issues, as well as journalists.

On February 2, Kutaisi Women Initiative Group gathered. The group members familiarized with the annual action plan, which envisage advocacy of the problem, which are dangerous for women. There was defined communication of the group members with local community and their informing. Also collaboration with local structures, exchange of information.
Initiative group worked on identification of the problem.
In the list there were social problems, schedule of a comfortable work of public transport, women's safety issues.
Participants developed advocacy plan. In the process there will be actively involved members of the group. They will try to solve the problem with the support of local government.

In Khoni settlement for IDPs, a survey was conducted to study their attitude to the reform of the allowance for IDPs.
Out of the 50 respondents, only a small part considers it necessary to carry out the reform. Everyone negatively evaluates the fact that prior to the drafting of the reform, there was no study of their needs.
Most respondents note that the allowance (45 GEL) is important for them, and the implementation of the reform will worsen their already difficult social and economic situation.

Kutaisi and Tskaltubo women initiative groups of the fund “Sukhumi” were actively involved in the 16 day campaign. On their initiative of the group members there were held informational meetings in IDP collective centers. The population heard information regarding the issues of violence, about campaign. They were given informational leaflets, white ribbons, calendars. The members of the women initiative group consider that similar activities have important meaning in the informing and prevention of violence against women.
Women initiative groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khoni in May worked with special intensity. The work plan provided expanding cooperation with local authorities and informing the public about the work of the initiative groups.
In three cities, information meetings were held with the involvement of representatives of various local government services. There was a precedent when the authorities immediately started active work to resolve the problems. Citizens were given the opportunity to talk on topical issues.
Women initiative groups will actively continue to work in cooperation with local authorities - with the aim of advocating problems.
In August one more important group of the Fund “Sukhumi” worked actively - the Monitoring Group on the Implementation of the Law of Georgia on the Elimination of Domestic Violence, on the Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence and their Assistance.
There were held indepth interviews with gender advisors of Tskaltubo and Senaki Sakrebulo, also focus-groups with the members of Gender Advisory Councils, created in these municipalities.
During the meetings there was revealed that local governments are aware of necessity of their participation in the issues of violence prevention. They consider it as a results of cooperation with the FS.

Members of the Gender Consultative Group established by Fund “Sukhumi” met with a representative of the Mayor’s office of Bagdadi Municipality responsible for gender equality issues, Sophiko Natriashvili. She was consulted on local gender policy issues as well as no activities to be carried out by Gender Equality Council of the Municipality. Participants of the meeting discussed plans for future cooperation between the Council and Fund “Sukhumi”.

WSC of Poti actively prepares to implementation of the project “Violence prevention through popularization of healthy life-style”. Different sport activities are planned: checkers, backgammon, volleyball with the participation of girls and boys.
The event is planned on July 10 on Maltakva embankment.
At this stage, meetings are held in different local government services and organizational issues are discussed. The event is actively participated by the office of Mayor of Poti – for the Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as social protection and gender.
