The acceptance of entries for our journalistic contest, "Ethical Coverage of Gender Identity Disinformation and Violence Against Women," has ended. The jury is currently in the process of evaluation. The jury panel consists of the following members:

This competition is organized as part of the project "Changing Narratives: Fighting Gender Identity Disinformation for an Informed, Sensitive Society and Ethical Regional Media."
Within the framework of the "Civil Initiative", IDPs living in Kutaisi on Chavchavadze Street No. 58 purchased a combined petrol mower, devices for processing grass and trees.
As a result of the civil initiative, living conditions in the settlement will improve and become safer.

The implementation of civil initiatives has been completed in three IDP settlements of Tskaltubo - on Abkhazeti and 9 Aprili Streets.
Residents of the settlements received the necessary materials to create a safe living environment: electric lawn mowers, paints, brushes, irrigation pipes, sprayers, door locks...
These materials were purchased according to their needs, and they themselves will join in the process of arranging their houses or yards.

Civil initiative envisaged by the project was implemented In the IDP settlement of Kutaisi. Residents of cottage-2 on Guram Gabeskiria Street received an electric mower, pruning shears and a saw on elements, a cart, a pipe and insulating tape.
Residents of the village implemented the initiative with their own resources. The use of purchased materials will contribute to the creation of a safe environment

The guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs" was discussed at information meetings held in the Women Support Centers of Khoni, Chokhatauri, Vani, Terjola and Samtredia. It describes the experience of non-governmental organizations - how they work to protect women's rights during and after the war.
The meeting participants familiarized themselves with the best practices of the Fund “Sukhumi”, which occupies an important place in the guide, together with recommendations and proposals aimed at supporting women.

A meeting of the general network of IDP women and girls was held online with participation of the women initiative groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Zugdidi and Senaki municipalities.
The meeting summarized the results of the current work within the framework of "Civil Initiatives". It was noted that the process of purchasing inventory envisaged by the project has been completed in the IDP communities. Members of the initiative group are ready to implement civil initiatives. Activities for the next month have already been planned.

The Women Fund “Sukhumi” is conducting a research using the GIA tool to assess the gender impact component of family and community participation in preschool education and the standard of education quality. The research is conducted in close cooperation with the Kindergartens’ Association.
Focus groups, in-depth interviews, working meetings, and surveys are used to collect information during the research.
The final report will reflect the gender impact of the indicated program on the target groups (children, their families, preschool institution, community). The final goal of the research is to develop recommendations for expanding the participation and cooperation of families and communities in preschool education policies in order to envisage the needs and characteristics of children.

A round table with women was held in Terjola. A lawyer of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” spoke about identifying victims of violence against women and/or domestic violence, national referral procedures for their protection, assistance and rehabilitation, as well as the services of our organization.
The participants focused on early marriages, the rights and responsibilities of minors, and the role of society. They received information about the importance of non-governmental organizations and especially noted the positive influence of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”.

In connection with the International Day of Peace, on the initiative of the Fund "Sukhumi", the day of Georgian-Abkhazian and Ossetian cuisine was celebrated in the border village Khurcha. Such event helps to settle the conflict and warm the relations. The informal environment showed that we have a lot in common from a culinary point of view. It is important to preserve the traditions specific to each corner. The event was held within the framework of the strategy developed by the Fund "Sukhumi". Members of Koki women and youth initiative group took an active part in the event. Both local and IDP community representatives were invited.
On September 12, the day of Georgian-Abkhazian and Ossetian cuisine day was celebrated in Khoni municipality within the framework of joint initiatives of women and youth initiative groups. The event was held within the framework of the International Day of Peace and its aim is to promote the establishment of peaceful relations in frames of public diplomacy. The participants presented the dishes, described the ingredients and finally tasted them. In parallel of the event, the members of the youth group read patriotic poems, an exhibition of thematic paintings and photos was organized. A member of the women's group introduced her poems to the public. The members of Khoni youth club attended a training on the topic "Mediation as a Ritual of Reconciliation". The participants received information about mediation, different types of mediation and the importance of mediation. Practical exercises were held on conflict management and process mediation. The meeting was hosted by Khoni Public School No 3.
