For the journalists of Ozurgeti, Senaki and Kutaisi, after cooperation with the fund “Sukhumi” gender thematic became “native”. As they say, they must learn more in this aspect.
On September 8 on the initiative of Ozurgeti Gender Media Center there was held a training on the issues of gender budgeting. It was attended by local and Kutaisi journalists.
Training was led by representatives of Democratic Union of Georgia  - Levan Khintibidze and Irakli Papava. Attention was paid on budget system of Georgia regarding program and gender needs of budget, on participation of the citizens in implementation of self-government and role of media in formation of gender budget.
After training there was a surprise from George Girkelidze – head of Gender Media Center – representatives of Kutaisi media, visited monastery of Shemokmedi and inclusively for them, a fountain was turned on in the park of Shemokmedi, opening of which is planned at the end of month.

Fund "Sukhumi" organized a three-day training in Kobuleti, - hotel "Sunrise". It was attended by women's initiative groups of Kutaisi, Khoni and Tskhaltubo. According to the agenda, the participants worked on advocacy: how to identify problems, plan campaigns, develop a slogan, draw clear message-box work on the SWOT analysis.
For them it was interesting the introduction of local self-government authority. Mini-lectures accompanied by practical exercises, role games, interactive work.
On the last day the groups developed action plan of advocating the concrete issues for municipalities. It was revealed that they have a certain amount of experience, which is so important for advocacy.
During three days there was great interest that was recorded during the feedback:
- For me this training was the best way to assess own resources and capabilities.
- It was interesting to learn about the experiences of other municipalities that will be implemented in our work.
On the next step initiative groups will try to advocate different issues in practice.

The conference Hall of Senaki Sakrebulo there was held a training for members of the Club of Women-Voters. This is the first training in the new project of the fund "Sukhumi" - "The active involvement of women in the political life of Georgia through democratization of electoral processes." The project aims to promote the development of the activity of women and enhance their role in the electoral process.

Seventeen participants of the training got acquainted with such topics as the election code of Georgia, the political system of the country, the issue of gender in supporting women candidates. Participants of the training had an opportunity to get answers to interesting questions. They are ready to join the work of the Club and to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the project.

For the Club of Voter Women, which was formed in Tskaltubo, there was held a training on: “Elections – as the basis for democracy, political system and role of women in this process”.

Elections are the actual issue and the participants received full information from the trainers.

Training was held on the background of active discussion. Participants noted that if the women are at the level of decision making, topical issues will be to the forefront. For this, women should contribute to the manifestation of active women, who live in their communities.

On June 19-21 a training was held in Borjomi with participation of 23 representatives (15 men among them) of local self-government of Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Batumi, Poti, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Zugdidi. The topic of the meeting was chosen according of the maind directions of the fund “Sukhumi” in Western Georgia – “Preventive strategy of local self-government in fighting against domestic violence”.
Its schedule covered following issues: gender, gender violence, types of violence, Istanbul convention, law against domestic violence, action plan, legislative changes.
On a last day of training strategies in action plan in all cities were elaborated in direction of domestic violence prevention and victim protection.
8 cities of Western Georgia expressed readiness in fighting against violence, the victim of which is majority of women.

October 22-25 representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" were invited to the training on advocacy. The training was organized by the international organization Kvinna till Kvinna in Yerevan. At the meeting, partner organizations shared their experience in advocacy at the local, national and regional levels.

For the members of Ozurgeti Club of Voter Women there was held a training on: “Elections – as basis of democracy, political system and role of women in this process”.

The participants heard information about election code, their rights and duties, about political system of Georgia, programs of political parties, structure and meaning.

For the participants it was interesting to realize, why it is important women’s participation in the process of decision-making, support of women candidates. All issues were discussed by practical examples – it ensured effectiveness of the training.

For the WSC mobilizers of Kutaisi there was held  training for that they could independently implement small projects, funded by the fund “Sukhumi”.

In the first parti of training there was discussed a work with financial documentations. Mobilizers filled in different financial forms.

The second part was devoted to organizational work – defining action plan, collaboration with local government and achievement of their support for effectiveness of the project.

Mobilizers of WSCs gathered in the fund “Sukhumi” for two-day training. On February 62-27 they worked on the issues of writing and design the project.

First day of the training was devoted to the principles of project writing – name of the project, describing the aims, problems, defining risks, list of activities.

The second day was practical work – mobilizers elaborated small projects for all 6 Women Support Centers (Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha).

On September 23 in Batumi there was held a training for the members of Batumi Club of Voter Women. The topic of the training was interesting for the participants based on the fact that the issue of gender and women activity it is important for them. There was  expressed an interest towards the issues related to the elections, as the participants are involved in this process. The meeting stressed the need to support women candidates.
