In frames of gender week, the fund “Sukhumi” joined and action on March 8, in Kutaisi.

The action was held in 24 cities with the slogan: “More Women in Parliament!”, “More Women in Politics!”, “Vote for the Women!”. The action was organized by Women Movement of Georgia.

Participating in the action, members of the fund fixed their position – to support women’s political activities in Georgia.

Activists of Women's Support Center of the Fund "Sukhumi", members of the Gender Advisory Council and the Club of Women-Voters, actors of the Forum Theatre, the volunteers of the Youth Club, representatives of partner organizations, journalists, residents and visitors of the town - each of them were united during the demonstration in the center of Kutaisi.

This happens more often than we think! There is no reason that can justify violence! let’s unite against violence towards the women! - These and other slogans attracted the attention of passers-by.

Media representatives recorded interviews and again underlined gender-based violence.

In the office of the fun “Sukhumi” there was held summarization of the competition in frames of “Women Solidarity Week”.

5 schools took part in it. They held an action, informational meetings, performances of the forum-theatre, competitions of topics, exhibitions…

The teachers and pupils talked about it during the summarizing meeting,

According the decision of jury, first place was given to public school No1 named after Otia Ioseliani (Tskaltubo), the second place was given to public schools No6 named after Jiuli Shartava (Kutaisi) and the third place to public school of Koki (Zugdidi).

The winners and all the participants were awarded by diplomas and valuable gifts.

Fund "Sukhumi" announced a competition within the framework of "Women's Week of Solidarity" for partner schools of 6 regions in Western Georgia (03.03 - 14.03).

The competition is participated by public schools of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Poti and Koki – ther hold actions, briefings, presentations, forum theater, exhibitions ...

The main condition for competition is that meeting should correspond to the topic and attended by at least 100 people.

Judges are elected. The winners will get diplomas and gifts.

On March 6, in Poti school No 1, volunteers of the youth club conducted action, spead informational sheets and told the pupils about the week of Women Solidarity.
On March 8 in streets of Khoni, volunteers of the youth club disseminated informational sheets and cards, with contact information of the WSCs (In Khoni among them) of fund “Sukhumi”. The action raised interest in women.

On October 8, there will be held parliament elections of Georgia. There are many worthy and experienced women among the candidates. The main is that they should be supported by the voters.

On October 4 for the support of women candidates the Club of Women Voters of Fund "Sukhumi" held an action.

Peaceful, silent actions were held in the centers of 8 cities of Western Georgia - Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Khobi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Batumi.

The actions were attended by members of the Club of Women-Voters, representatives of partner NGOs and society. demonstrations were aired by media.

The protesters expressed their solidarity to women candidates, called on society for their support and recalled that equality is the power of country that more women in politics is peace, democracy and prosperity.

Women initiative groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khobi conducted and action in frames of the project “Women implement inclusive approaches in the sphere of human security for building sustainable peace”. They gathered second-hand things and delivered to Tskaltubo inclusive center. During the conversation with the chairperson of the center there were discussed plans for future cooperation with the fund “Sukhumi”. Women initiative groups in future will plan conducting of similar actions.

Traditionally in this year solidarity was expressed by the citizens of Senaki to the campaign of “16 active days against gender violence”.

The action was attended by the activists of the Women Support Centers, members of Gender Advisory Council, youth club and the Club of Women Voters. In such a way they supported the slogan of campaign “From Peace in Homes – to Peace in the World”.

About 40 people gathered in the center of Zugdidi, in front of the Cinema "Atriumi". Together with the benefiaciar women of the fund "Sukhumi" the action was joined by representatives of local government and other NGOs, teachers and youth.
in such a way the voice of Zugdidi joined the protest of the worl against violence towards the women.

The action of protest was held in the center of Zugdidi. It was attended by the activists of the Women Support Center of Khurcha/Koki, members of the youth club and the club of women voters.

They joined the actions held in 8 cities of Western Georgia and expressed solidarity to the international campaign of “16 active days against gender violence”.
