The fund “Sukhumi” organized round table in the City Hall of Kutaisi, which was attended by the members of Sakrebulo, representatives of law protecting structures and NGOs, lawyers, psychologists, social workers, teachers, journalists – people, who have direct contact with the problem of domestic violence.
Active discussion was held regarding changes, prepared by the national network of Protection from Violence for introduction in the organic law of Georgia "Code on local government" and in the Law of Georgia "On Combating Domestic Violence, the protection of victims of domestic violence and their care".
The meetings was led by representatives of national network of Protection from Violence. There were fixed: experience of participants, their attitude to the problems, concrete examples and general opinion: local self-government should be involved in the process of violence prevention and victim protection. It is very important for solution of this actual issue.

Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council held round table, the aim of which was summarizing the activities for the past year. The meeting was attended by representative of bothe Sakrebulos, deputy of the governor, deputies.

The meeting underlined that the GAC is connecting circle between local population and self-government.

Coming out of the fact that joint work contributed to lots of useful work, the GAC was given a suggestion from the side of Guria, to promote to creation of the GAC in a whole Guria region.

On December 9 the fund “Sukhumi” organized round table in conference hall of Kutaisi University on: “Cooperation between NGO sector and local government in the issues of domestic violence prevention and protection of victim”.

The event was attended by representatives of local self-government of 9 municipalities of Western Georgia – Kutaiai, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi, Khobi, Ozurgeti, Batumi. Representatives of partner organizations, media, members of GACs of Kutaisi, Senaki, Ozurgeti, Batumi. They spoke about the experience in their municipalities in the field of victim protection, also about law protective aspects. During the discussion there were given recommendations, that it is necessary to continue collaboration between NGO sector and local self-government in order to reach effective results in violence prevention.

The round table was final activity of the fund “Sukhumi” in frames of the campaign of “16 active days against gender violence”.

On last day of 16 day campaign, on December 10, in Khoni there was held a round table. It was attended by the representatives of local self-government, district inspector-investigator, social workers, teachers.
As it was mentioned, problem is visual and appropriate measures must be taken. It is important to improve the existing legal mechanisms, it is necessary to increase awareness, communication and closer cooperation between the structures.
At the meeting it was recorded interesting ideas, which will be reflected in the recommendations and submitted to the relevant departments.
It was said that such meetings are very important and public debate is necessary to conduct  systematically.

On September 22, in the conference hall of Batumi Sakrebulo a round table was held, organized by the fund “Sukhumi” and Gender Advisory Council. The event was attended by representatives of local self-government, NGOs, the Club of Voter Women of the fund “Sukhumi”, youth and journalists.
Gender Advisory Council presented two year activities and thanked self-government and fund “Sukhumi” for cooperation..it was also mentioned that despite project completion, the council members will continue activities and try to answer gender problems and challenges.
The council familiarized participants with the research results and named the most important problems. Exchange of opinions was held regarding presented recommendations. Council members expressed a will to elaborate gender policy final version in agreement with the society and submit it to Sakrebulo.
It was noted that budget programs are in active phase, so it is the most relevant time for lobbying of most actual issues.

A round table discussion was held on October 2nd, in the meeting room of SenakiSakrebulo. Participants of the discussion were the staff representatives and deputies of Sakrebulo, as well as members of Senaki Gender Advisory Council.
At the meeting therewere presented recommendations defined as a result of the sociological survey and Gender Action Plan elaborated by Senaki GAC.
Active discussion of the submitted Plan indicates the readiness of local self-government representatives to consider and support GAC’s initiatives.

The women initiative group gathered in the Fund "Sukhumi". The moderator of the group spoke about the results in terms of advocacy and the challenges they face.

- It is impossible to timely solve problems without activism and inclusion of citizens. Unfortunately, the majority thinks that everything should be done by the government, and does not realize its responsibility, - participants noted.

In their opinion, the role of NGOs is especially important - response to calls of specific people occurs to a lesser extent, and advocacy on behalf of the Fund "Sukhumi" gives effective results.

The initiative group believes that communication with the society and its information should continue.

What problems exist in our society in direction of human security; What are the risks by regions, age, social, ethnic and other differences?
Fund "Sukhumi" and the Association of Women of Abkhazia began researching human security in frames of the joint project.
Participants of the project from the Fund "Sukhumi" conducted six focus groups and six in-depth interviews in Kutaisi, Khoni, Senaki, Poti, Tskhaltubo and Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality).
120 women and girls were inquired. Presented reports made visual the needs and dangers that threaten the safety of women. The final research report will be made within a month.

On June 14, in the conference hall of Khoni Saskrebulo, there was held ordinary meeting of advisors’ council in frames of the project “Inclusion of NGOs, working on the issues of social security in strategic dialogue of Georgia”. Council members discussed the issue of social service in the municipality and the issues, regarding the research of needs.

Project Manager familiarized the participants with the concept of the study and with the specific of selection of target groups. It was said that the well-defined criteria - the guarantor of the success of the research objectives.

It was agreed - a place and time, included social groups and decision-makers also the best place for focus groups.

It was expressed a hope that the information gained a s a result of the research will be a good platform for the involvement of local policies of social inclusion.

The project is funded by the European Union and carries out the Czech organization "People in Need» (PIN). The partner of the project in Khoni is the Fund "Sukhumi".

Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council (GAC) begins to study gender needs. There were chosen target group for the inquiry as well as the respondents for the in=depth interview.

GAC members covered the groups whose needs are less reflected in the budget.

The inquiries  will be conducted with socially unprotected women, young people, ethnic minorities and women, engaged in small business. During the focus groups there will be fixed needs of IDPs, teachers, health workers, single mothers and mothers with many children. It was also decided to hold a focus group with community leaders to identify more problems. There will be selected experts in health, education, agriculture sphere and people with disabilities.
