This publication, more than any other, is a product of team effort.

We worked together, with pleasure and interest. Talking about your own positive results naturally causes such feelings.

In 2013-2016 Fund “Sukhumi” implemented a very challenging, important and ambitious project “Gender Advisory Councils – increasing women’s role in social changes of regions”. The project turned out to be more successful than expected - establishing Gender Advisory Councils in Kutaisi, Ozurgeti and Senaki helped increase women’s role and also brought some social changes to regions.

Moreover, state legislation now makes provisions for establishing gender councils.

How did we start? What did we do? How did we achieve our goals? The book tries to answer all these questions.

In this book we will tell you about the roads we took, our rich three-year experience, changes that we witnessed at the end of the project, the impact on  society, government agencies and media, the people who contributed to these changes.

Georgia is in second place in Eastern Europe after Moldova for the early marriage of girls. It is followed by Turkey and Tajikistan.

As an exception, the marriage of a person who has reached the age of 16 was allowed by her consent and only with the consent of the court in the presence of such reasons as pregnancy. Since January 2017, the marriage of persons under the age of 18 has been completely prohibited by law.

These and other issues were aired in the informational bulletin of the fund "Sukhumi". The electronic version of the newsletter is published within the framework of the project "Strengthening of Women's Rights in Western Georgia".

"Communication" comes from the Latin word "komunikare", which means - we will make what is said understandable to all... Why we do not understand each other, why do we perceive the situation differently? This question is directly related to the knowledge of communication and the answer is this: because we do not know, or simply, misunderstand the forms of presenting information.

The bulletin contains examples of effective and ineffective communication, there are given the necessary information and advices.

The electronic version of the bulletin of the Fund "Sukhumi" is published in the framework of the project "Strengthening of women's rights in Western Georgia" and is distributed at different meetings.

Women migration is a question that concerns everyone in Georgia equally, since there is no family whose member or loved one is not away.

There are many stories on this issue, some with a good ending, some with a bad ending. Statistically, of the people who were in the migration, 67% are women. Although, without it, it is clear that the leakage of women abroad over the past years has increased even more.

The bulletins contain several stories, the issue of responsibility of family members and society.
