Training is one of the types of interactive learning. The category reflects the trainings conducted in frames of the projects, as well as participation of the Fund “Sukhumi” staff in the trainings of other organizations.
Abastumani, Anaklia, Khetsera, Akhalabastumani, Opachkhapu, Jumi, Uchashona – representatives of these administrative units of Zugdidi Municipality, also representatives of self-government, participated in training on the issues of domestic violence prevention.
The topic was very interesting and readiness from the side of participants of active inclusion in preventive activities and more assistance of victims. It was shown in recommendations, elaborated during the training.
The training was held in frames of the project “cooperation with local self-government, prevention of domestic violence an protection of victims” (financed by Gamgeoba of Zugidi Municipality and co-financed by the fund “Sukhumi”).
The next training will be attended by representatives of other administrative units of the municipality.
In the hall of Khoni Sakrebulo there was held a meeting within the project "Community mobilization for prevention of domestic violence." Representatives of administrative units of Matkhojhi, Kukhi, Nakhakhulevi, Gocha Djikhaishi attendee the meeting together with the staff of local government.
The training was interesting, practical examples, statistics were discussed. Participants talked about the reasons and prevention of domestic violence. It was noted that in frames of the project information sessions will be carried out in Matkhodzhi, Kukhi, Nakhakhulevi - it will contribute to community mobilization for prevention of domestic violence.
Tskaltubo Women's Support Centre in the village of Tskaltubo held training on "Knowledge will overcome the violence." Among the 18 participants there were representatives of the village government, activists and medical personnel.
Information about the law against violence, arresting and protective orders, victim support programs, group for assignment of status of the victim - these and other issues were discussed during the training. At the end the recommendations have been developed for the effective protection of victims and preventive work.
“Gender and Gender Violence” – a training on this issue was held in Sakrebulo of Senaki in frames of the project “Prevention of domestic violence in Senaki Municipality” (the project is co-financed by the local government of Senaki and the Fund “Sukhumi”).
The training was participated by two representatives per each of 14 communities of Senaki municipality. They familiarized with interesting and actual issues, with the skills of trainer and then they will held workshops on gender issues in their communities.
For the WSC mobilizers of Kutaisi there was held training for that they could independently implement small projects, funded by the fund “Sukhumi”.
In the first parti of training there was discussed a work with financial documentations. Mobilizers filled in different financial forms.
The second part was devoted to organizational work – defining action plan, collaboration with local government and achievement of their support for effectiveness of the project.
In Tskaltubo thee was held a training on: “Resort service and ethics”. Great interest of participants was caused by the fact that majority of them work in this sphere and they need to master the skills training provided.
The training presented theory and practice, which has a positive impact on its productivity.
Participants noted, that it is desirable to carry out cycle of such trainings on a larger scale.
Project of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) "Strengthening of the gender aspects for active inclusion in the formation of local gender policies" is on the next step. The project is co-financing by Kutaisi City Hall and the fund "Sukhumi".
In April there was held regional conference and om May 13 there was the a training for the students. Participants heard information regarding the issues of gender equality, familiarized with the structures and priorities of the budget, realized effectiveness of involving students in preparation of recommendations while forming local budget.
The training was attended by the students if three universities of Kutaisi. According the project they will continue conducting workshops on gender issues in the university of A.Tsereteli, in Kutaisi branch of Tbilisi State University.
On May 12, in Tskaltubo there was held training on "Basics of small business and a composition of business plan." It was attended by 13 young people who have passed computer courses and sewing classes. After the training, participants developed a business plan. They will have the opportunity to take part in the competition of projects and receive a special prize, which will help them in implementation of their ideas.
The project is implemented with the support of the Czech organization PIN (donor - World Bank)
On May 7 and 9 in the Youth House of Terjola, there was held a training on “Basis of accounting system”. The training was participated by 30 young people from 16 to 29 years old. 20 participants of computer and accounting courses and 10 new participants.
At the end of the training the participants were given possibility to write business plan and submit to the commission. The winner will be awarded with the prize.
In Tskaltubo there were finished two month courses in frames of the project “Promotion of development of youth professional orientation in Tskaltubo municipality”.
The courses were passed by 16 young people. According to their motivation, they were given more information, than it was envisaged by the program. The graduators were given certificates. It was mentioned that gained knowledge is too important for their employment.
