During an online meeting of Terjola working group, the results of activities for two years were presented. The members of the group told about the work done, what main issues of the action plan were fulfilled.

First of all, the active cooperation of civil society organizations with local self-government was emphasized, which was not done before.

The most important issue was the introduction of civil budgeting. As a result of the competition, projects for which a tender was announced were accepted. The two project years were quite fruitful for Terjola.

It was a project that brought lots of changes in eight municipalities. A project that, through improving electronic services, solved the problems of citizens.

The concrete results of active work over two years were discussed by the project participants at the final conference "Strengthening and Involvement of Local Civil Society Organizations in monitoring of Public Administration Reform/PAR in Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi - lessons learned".

The conference was inter-municipal - in addition to the 8 municipalities included in the project, representatives of 19 municipalities, civil society organizations and mass media of Western Georgia also participated.

“Through your project, we hear the voice of citizens”, “With your successful project, you were able to do the main thing - a continuous dialogue between the population and the government and the identification of problems. This is the main component in the process of public administration reform”, mentioned the representatives of central government structures.

The conference clearly demonstrated the results and achievements of the project.

The last meeting of Bagdati working group was devoted to summing up the results achieved. The main achievement was the development of a code of ethics and anti-corruption regulations. The website was also modernized. All necessary information is available on the updated web page. The practice of online petitioning is being introduced. The population was actively informed about the importance of online services. The main challenge is the problem of internetization, and the active work is being carried out in this direction.

Voters’ Advice Application has been introduced – in Zugdidi municipality for the local self-government elections in 2021.

This is the second application of the Fund "Sukhumi". The first was activated for the 2020 parliamentary elections - more than 70,000 voters used this online platform and received information about the programs of political actors.

The preparatory work was completed: information leaflets were printed, questions were developed and the answers of political units were reflected, a video clip is ready, informational meetings were held and will be held in Zugdidi municipality.

This is what talented young people from Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha and Senaki municipalities said at the final meeting and thanked the trainers of the Fund "Sukhumi": Nino Chabukiani, Larisa Shengelia and Beka Potskhveria for their successful work.

New publication is prepared: Second report on needs research: “Assessment of Population Needs in 8 Municipalities of Western Georgia in the Process of Public Administration Reform (PAR) - Consolidated Report” (Georgian and English versions).

The main vector of the research was to determine the benefits of e-services and identify the level of citizens' involvement in the formation of local policy. The first needs research was conducted in April-May 2020, the second - in May-June 2021.

The research included 16 civil society organizations from 8 municipalities of Imereti, Guria and Racha-Lechkhumi regions. These organizations are actively working in the framework of the project “A common forum for CSOs from Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi for PAR Roadmap monitoring”.

Khoni working group summarized the results of two years of work: strengthening local civil society organizations, registering new organizations, active cooperation of civil and governmental sectors, monitoring of the roadmap for public administration reform, launching of a hotline, updating the municipality's website, improving e-services for self-government, introducing an e-petition, development of a code of ethics ...

This is a great experience and best practice for Khoni municipality.

Three meetings were held online with members of the initiative group of Zugdidi municipality.

During the meeting with Koki / Khurcha group, the issue of creating comfortable conditions for recreation and entertainment for the youth of Koki community and their families was raised. The group has developed and approved an advocacy plan and will begin an active campaign in this regard in September.

As a result of advocacy, Zugdidi women initiative group decided to clean the territory adjacent to the IDP settlement from weeds. The meeting was devoted to this issue.

The third meeting took place with Koki youth initiative group. The participants spoke about the project financed through the sub-grant of the Fund “Sukhumi. The project will promote to a healthy lifestyle.

With the support of sub-grants of the Fund "Sukhumi", two projects were financed in Tskaltubo. Youth initiative groups begin to actively work in this direction. The projects, the implementation of which are planned by young people, aim to activate youth groups living in Tskaltubo municipality, inform them about environmental issues, self-government programs and include them in the processes taking place in the municipality.

The women initiative group begins to advocate the problems: the lack of awareness of the population about local programs. After a general discussion, the advocacy plan was approved. Some advocated activities will begin in September.

Civil Society Organization “Imedi” is one of the partners of the project. The organization held an online information meeting with members of the women peacekeeping club.

The participants got acquainted with a social video prepared by the Fund "Sukhumi" for filling in the online platform "Voters’ Advice Application". They also received information about the project and the issues that will be posted on the platform.

According to the participants, the project is very interesting. The voter receives alternative information, different from television, which will help to make the right decision during the elections.
