Within the framework of the project “A common forum for CSOs from Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi for #PAR Roadmap monitoring”, Imereti Scientists’ Union "Spectri" held an online press - conference - representatives of the media of Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi received information on the results of monitoring of the roadmap for public administration reform.

The project is being implemented in Bagdati, Vani, Khoni, Terjola (Imereti), Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti (Guria), Ambrolauri, Tsageri (Racha-Lechkhumi).

The press conference was attended by representatives of all print and electronic media of all target municipalities. Regional media outlets in Kutaisi and Ozurgeti were also represented.

During the meeting, the representatives of the project partner organizations talked about the organization of monitoring at the local level and the obtained results. Journalists put questions regarding public administration in municipalities.

The press conference received a great response in the media, and materials regarding the project “A common forum for CSOs from Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi for #PAR Roadmap monitoring” appeared.

An unusual program was prepared on Mega TV. Unusual because, it was prepared in a state of emergency during the quarantine period. There are few direct interviews and more – online inclusions and photo materials. The program summarized the six-month work in the framework of the project “A common forum for CSOs from Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi for PAR Roadmap monitoring”.

Representatives of organizations, participating in the project, talk about the work done. The audience clearly sees the goal of the project and the expected results, the relevance of which became obvious recently.

The organizer of the TV program is one of the partner organizations, the Fund of Women Entrepreneurs. The project is carried out by the Fund “Sukhumi”, the Fund of Women Entrepreneurs and Imereti Scientists’ Union “Spectri”.

An article “Gender mainstreaming at local level – Polish case” (author Ekaterina Gamakharia, a representative of Fund “Sukhumi”, women’s rights expert) was published in the newspaper “P.S.”.

The article is a brief overview of an analytical work of Katarzyna Zielinska, a doctor of Jagiellonian University, Sociological Institute, that was developed on the request of Fund “Sukhumi” within the framework of the project “Learning from the experience of Visegrad 4 to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance".

“Gender mainstreaming experience – Czech case” – an article with this heading was published in the web portal “Kutaisipost”. The author of the article is Ekaterina Gamakharia, a representative of Fund “Sukhumi”, women's rights expert. The article gives a brief overview of the analytical work of Klara Kozlova, a representative of the leading non-governmental organization of the Czech Republic, "Gender Studies". The overview was written in the framework of the project “Learning from the experience of Visegrad 4 to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance", on request of Fund “Sukhumi”.

The web portal "New Press" published the article "Best practices in achieving gender equality – Slovak case". It presents a brief overview of the analytical work of the doctor of the Sociological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Slovakia Peter Guran. On the 5th of July Fund “Sukhumi” organized live broadcast on the topic “Gender mainstreaming in local municipalities” in the TV company “Rioni”.

- How Gender Equality Councils are formed, which challenges exist, and what experience Fund “Sukhumi” offers – these issues were focused during the program.

A regular TV program on the topic “Municipal Gender Equality Councils, as a perspective for socially balanced policy” was transmitted on air of TV company “Rioni”.

TV stories transmitted during the program told about the work of Fund “Sukhumi” with Gender Equality Councils of Imereti and Guria. The conversation was about Gender equality Action Plan, gender budget, gender statistic, and the essence of gender researches.

Guests of the program – members of Khoni Gender Equality Council shared their plans for future activity. There was voiced a civic initiative regarding a sensitive topic of migration which has negative influence on women.

Article “Gender equality and gender mainstreaming in local government, Hungary case” is published in the newspaper “Guria news”. The author of the article is Ekaterina Gamakharia, Fund “Sukhumi” representative, an expert in women’s rights issues. They told about the work of Fund “Sukhumi” on gender mainstreaming, importance of international experience, necessity of establishing Gender Equality Council and elaboration of a strategic plan for the future. The meeting was held in the frames of the project “Learning from the experience of Visegrad 4 to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance".

A TV program about the situation related to introduction of gender policy at local level was broadcasted on live of TV "Rioni".  

A chairperson of Tskhaltubo Municipality Council (Sakrebulo), secretary of the Gender Equality Council of Tskhaltubo Municipality, members of Kutaisi Gender Equality Council, and representatives of society participated in the program. Attendees spoke about the work organized by Fund “Sukhumi in terms of gender studies, elaboration of a Strategic Guidance on local gender policy, the consultative service of the Gender Equality Councils of Municipalities, the process of an Action Plan development. Representatives of Tskhaltubo and Kutaisi Gender Equality Councils talked about gender programs of municipalities and the practice of cooperation with a qualified non-governmental sector.

A TV story that was shown during the program, described meetings in the municipalities of Tskhaltubo and Lanchkhuti, as well as an international conference organized by Fund Sukhumi in Tbilisi.
