In frames of monitoring the law against domestic violence, the monitors of the fund “Sukhumi” conducted in-depth interviews with the judges of the Kutaisi City Court, as well as with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kutaisi and Tskaltubo. The information received will be processed and recommendations based on it will be prepared.

In May 33 mobilization meetings were held in different places of Western Georgia – Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senkai, Poti and village: Ternali (Tskaltubo Municipality), Nosiri (Senaki Municipality), Khurcha nad Koki (Zugdidi Municipality).
Mobilizers did not leave without attention important date of the month: May 17 – Family Day. There was discussion regarding meaning of family, its sustainability and role of woman.
Basically there were discussed mechanisms of protection women form domestic violence. It was mentioned that it is already 10 years after receiving the law against violence by the Parliament, but its effectiveness is not reached yet.
After mobilization meetings, the women took part in activities, carried out in WSCs and majority of them solved their concrete problems.

As always, mobilizers of the Women Support Centers of the fund “Sukhumi” in May conducted 33 information and mobilization meetings in the municipalities of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti and Zugdidi.

Together with various topical issues, the participants got acquainted with the reports of the meetings held as part of monitoring of the law "On the suppression of domestic violence, the protection of victims of domestic violence and their assistance." They also discussed infrastructure issues.

On May 19 there was finished competition of business projects within the framework of the project "Youth development on the new stage." Prior to the competition the commission met to review the business projects. Commission members were representatives of the donor organization PIN and Fund "Sukhumi», local government agencies, the director of the Youth House. Scores were given objectively. 3 best business projects were identified. The winners are: Eliso Panchulidze, Nikoloz Memanishvili and Nano Makaridze. Authors of the best projects were awarded by computer equipment purchased under the project.

Most part of ordinary meeting of Senaki GAC was devoted to elaboration of the project of city gender policy. As a result of active discussion, members of the council defined main recommendation for involving  in the plan of gender policy, including goals, necessary actions, terms and sources of funding. After elaboration of the final version of the plan it is planned to familiarize the persons, taking decision for envisaging elaborated recommendations in the local budget for 2016.
Thus was carried out discussion of the issues of the planned meeting of the GAC with Parliament Gender Equality Council. members of the council were glad to learn about possibilities of participation in ordinary meeting in Parliament and are ready to submit their suggestions.

In frames of 16 day campaign in the villages of Ozurgeti Municipality Dvabzu and Tskhemliskhidi, the members of gender advisory council organized informational meetings with the teachers and pupils. Then the young people conducted action and meetings with the village population, disseminated informational leaflets.

To the campaign of "16 active days against gender violence" Khoni Women Support Center dedicated mini-project "Women break stereotypes."

According to the project summary, the majority of women of military settlement collective center are passive, do not have information about the gender-based violence. The project included women who did not attend the Women's Support Center events. Women's Championship in Backgammon was organized. This broke one of the stereotypes as sport is considered as a man's job.

The championship was attended by representatives of local government.

In frames of the project there was printed a poster-calendar with photos of football players of the club "Abkhazeti" - the winner of the amateur league - Imereti 2016. Especially impressionable was the slogan of the poster "We condemn the violence!"

All participants of the calendar of the championship were given the calendar, as well as informational leaflets. Everyone agrees that it is necessary to condemn the violence and to do everything to reduce the number of violent facts.

Group of Kutaisi Youth Club conducted activity in the fund “Sukhumi” - “We do not count chromosomes”. There were invited the children with this diagnosis, psychologist and manager of the Center of Social rehabilitation.

The event was held on the initiative of the club member – Mari Kurtanidze. The guest spent time pleasantly and received the gifts.

In the work of the Club of Voter Women of Khobi, members of Sakrebulo Dodo Gabunia and MziaLomandria joined, who told about their activities, the results achieved, and the changes they contributed, as decision-makers.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the Gamgeoba Infrastructure, Urban Development and Architecture Service, Zaza Bukia, who reported on the work carried out to study the situation in the village of Kheta. The village problem was voiced at the previous meeting of the Club. The head of the service promised the representatives of the village that he would try to do everything possible to solve the village problem in the near future.

Members of the youth clubs of the fund “Sukhumi” conducted informational meetings and actions in the cities and villages of Western Georgia.
Boys and girls spoke with the people of different ages about meaning of 16-day campaign. They spread informational sheets with declaration “Let’s join against violation towards the women”.
