Meeting of the club of women voters in Khobi

  

Meeting of the club of women voters was held in the publishing house of “Khobis Moambe”. The club members discussed the results of parliament elections. The chairperson of Khobi election commission have quantitative data of voters during elections. It should be mentioned that activity of male voters was higher - 14 132 men, 11 980 women.

This fact points to the need of strengthening of local women, raising their awareness, even though 70% of women were represented in the election commissions.

At the meeting there was invited representative of Gamgebeli of Khobi in the village of Pirveli Maisi - Lagvilava Marina, who told the audience about how she came to politics, and how the life of the village has changed as a result of her active work and effort.

There was held a discussion of local issues that require advocacy, there were identified solutions, as well as items for the next meeting of the Club.

Meeting of the club of women voters in Senaki

 

During the ordinary meeting of the club of women voters of Senaki, there was held a discussion of the results of 2016 parliament elections. It was mentioned that there were not represented women candidates during elections. As for the activity of the voters, here the percentage rate is above 52.09% (12 177 women) and 47.91% of men (11 200).

In frames of charity action of the fund “Sukhumi” and fund “Caritas”, the gifts were given to one vulnerable family in Senaki - hygiene products, children's toys, food and clothes. Family members expressed gratitude for the support.

Meeting of the club of Tskaltubo Women Voters

 

The meeting discussed results of parliament elections. Unfortunately Tskaltubo did not resent women candidates and it was mentioned by the club members.

The second part of the meeting was devoted to the definition of problems, which will be advocated by the Club. First of all, there was allocated question of transportation of  students and teachers.

It was agreed to prepare a letter to the local government's name, and at the next meeting to invite people who can resolve this problem.

Club of Women-Voters expressed a desire to be actively involved in the campaign of 16 active days against violence towards the women. Specific activities were planned.

Actual issues of the Club of Women Voters of Kutaisi

  

On October 21 a meeting of the Club of Women-Voters of Kutaisi was held. The first question was information about the first round of parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by members of the club, the majoritarian candidate Lia Gvenetadze and women who actively participated in the work of election commissions. They spoke about their election experience.

At the club, it was noted that women for the given period also are not represented in the Parliament properly. Therefore, according to them, more work should be done for election in 2017 to the local government to have more women at decision-making level.

The second issue at the club was the selection of problems for advocacy. The club has many years of experience and hope that the advocacy process will be completed efficiently.

Plans of the club of women voters of Khoni

 

During a meeting of the women voters of Khoni, the participants assessed the first round of parliament elections and spoke about future prospects. It was mentioned that for more representation of women in parliament, it is necessary to work more. That is why they are going to be more active, in order to see more women in Sakrebulo after the elections. At the end of meeting club members chose problems for advocacy, created a group of advocacy. Each of them has a great interest and mood, in order to solve as many problems as possible.
