The Fund "Sukhumi" organized a meeting of a working group in Tsalenjikha municipality on the localization of the National Action Plan for the implementation of Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council. The group members reviewed the Roadmap project they had developed and identified a number of priority issues, advocacy of which had already begun.
The focus of the meeting was made on the Municipal Action Plan for Gender Equality, since special importance is attached to its harmonization with the Road Map.
Together with the leaders of the municipality, the working group considered the issue of advancing important topics for the implementation of gender policy. The conversation touched on the allocation of budgetary funds, directing local resources to the needs of citizens and ensuring their inclusion. Meetings with different target groups were planned to identify their needs. This will contribute to the active inclusion of the municipality in the localization of Resolution 1325 “on women, peace and security”.
The meeting was held in frames of the project “Strengthening the capacity of regional and local administrations in processes of localization of the National Action Plan 1325 Resolution The UN Security Council and activation of dialogue and the participation of women, including the most marginalized ones, in these processes”.
The project is being implemented by the Coalition Union - the Association of Women IDPs “Consent” (Tbilisi), the Women's Information Center (Tbilisi) and the Culture and Humanitarian Fund “Sukhumi” (Kutaisi).
