2Ordinary meeting with journalists of Senaki was held in conference-hall of Sakrebulo. It was attended by representatives of the GAC project “civil education for gender equality and healthy environment in Senaki pre-school unity”.

The project is carried out with support of Senaki Municipality local self-government and fund “Sukhumi”.

Participants of the meeting, members of the GAC, talked about creation of the project, about work-shops and results of gender equality in kindergartens, domestic violence and problem of sanitary.

The young parents mentioned that they participated in such meetings for a first time and with the help of similar work-shops they realized importance of gender education.

The journalists better saw their role in direction of gender policy influence of the town.

Meeting with representatives of Senaki regional archive was introductory. There are 6 employees in the Archive. As noted, there are documents of regional value from 1921 to the present day.
In the future we plan to transfer the archive in Zugdidi. As officials say, they were not threatened by unemployment, as they take part in the announcement of the vacancy and testing.

Representatives of Senaki archive expressed a desire to cooperate with the Fund "Sukhumi", became interested in the work of the Gender Advisory Council of the Club of Women Voters and services of Senaki Women's Support Centre.

In Batumi Independent University, the Fund "Sukhumi" held the first information meeting. For students of the Faculty of Customs received information about the work of the Gender Advisory Council of Batumi.
- Our university is 17 years old, and we are teaching more than 300 students. Among them are young people from the regions, as well as representatives of different nationalities. We had a desire, to be involved in the activity of the Fund "Sukhumi". It would be good to hold training sessions for young people to raise gender awareness, it will help them in the creation of harmonic families - said the manager of a professional program Izolda Khalvashi.

The ordinary meeting of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council (GAC) was devoted to the formation of the Youth GAC and Sakrebulo. Lawyer of the GAC introduced the draft provisions of the alternative Youth Sakrebulo, which, after adjustment, was familiarized by young people. With the help of members of the GAC rights and obligations of alternative GAC and Sakrebulo were drafted.

There were also activities planned under the new project, which will be implemented in rural schools of Ozurgeti municipality.

This time fund “Sukhumi” visited school No4 of Ozurgeti. The school is 125 years old and there are 630 pupils and 59 teachers.
In Georgian-language school (used to be bilingual) study the representatives of other nationalities too (Armenians, Ukrainians, Russian, Assyrians).
Several problems were identified- there is no drinking water in school, no gym, so-called "smart boards" the courtyard must be renewed and the stadium covered.
Package of the issues for advocacy and solution will be delivered to a gender advisory board and local government agencies.

Representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” met the IDPs residing in former kindergarten building on Nikea Street of Kutaisi and familiarized with their life conditions.
The building id rehabilitated and transferred in property, but members of 21 families, who still live there, speak about lots of problems (yard without fence, broken roundabouts…)
In advocacy of mentioned problems Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council was involved.

On March 11, one of the collective centers of Kutaisi (former kindergarten on Nicea Street) legal-consultation meeting was held.

The IDPs received living space in this center in the property after the facade was repaired and sewage system and the windows were changed.
IDPs of this collective center got different types of individual counseling from the lawyer. Their main problem is that in some places the fence is open, the cattle spoils planted trees and flowers.

At the request of the participants written statement was prepared to the City Hall in order to allocate them the sum or materials for fencing the yard.

On International Day of Women Solidarity in kindergarten No 2 of Senaki there was held an exhibition “Women for Peace, Beauty and Harmony”, with works of ladies and kindergarten staff. The event was decorated with music. The exhibition was attended by representatives of local self-government, members of Gender Advisory Councils.
The exhibition was held on initiative of the kindergarten. This is a result of the work in frames of joint project of fund “Sukhumi” and Senaki municipality “Civil Education for Gender Equality and Healthy Environment in Senaki Pre-school Unity

In frames of the project “Synergy – strengthening of IDPs by participation and collaboration” informational meetings were held by the activist of the fund “Sukhumi”, graduator of the young leaders’ school – Asmat Dvalishvili.
She was nominated in local self-government elections 2014, in Kutaisi. In spite of the fact that she did not win, she gained seriou8s experience and will continue working in this direction for next elections.

Asmat Dvalishvili conducted in formational meetings on gender issues in Public schools No17 and No 40 of Kutaisi and School No 6 of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic, named after Jiuli Shartava. The meetings were attended by parents, teachers and pupils. Meeting in Senaki Military Settlement with the wives of officers was devoted to the Mother’s Day.
