Workshop - is an educational activity (like seminars, courses), where the participants gain knowledge independently. Workshops are held on different topics with women and young people. Workshops are often conducted by the participants themselves.

  
Mobilizers of WSC of Senaki, Khoni and tskaltubo conducted workshops in the villages, devoted to the campaign of “16 active days against violence towards the women”.
Participants of the workshop learned more about violence, its forms and protective mechanisms, which to their opinion, is actual and useful information.

Ordinary workshops were held with the women in conflict management. The activities were held in frames of the campaign “16 active days against violation towards the women”. Majority of participants consider that problem of violence is very actual in Georgia and whole society must unite against it.
We know that domestic conflict continue for years, know that nothing changes in these families for better, but we keep silence, because we have lack of solidarity, we do not think that tomorrow someone, close to us, can appear in such a situation and we will bot be able to help them.
These were the opinions of women, who took part in workshops of conflictology. They think that if the woman has much information, she is much stronger and can manage conflicts in family, but she must be sure that will be supported from the side of society.
The workshops were held in Poti, Tskaltubo, Senaki – 31 women took part in them.

The fund “Sukhumi” organized a workshop on the issue of human security in the public library of Poti. It was participated by the representatives of different society specters. The participants familiarized with the information regarding the campaign of 16 active days against violence towards the women. In solidarity all of them made a symbol of the campaign - a white ribbon.
At the meeting, there was held a presentation of a brochure published in frames of the project "Evaluation of the human security level of women in Western Georgia".
Participants of the workshop reviewed the topic of human security from a gender perspective. The audience fixed, that violence against women is one of the most serious problems among dangers. In the recommendations it was noted that the state's role should be increased. The law should define responsibilities for the eradication of violence.

a workshop on conflict resolution was held with students of upper grades of school №1 - Tskaltubo. The meeting began with information about active 16 active days. Participants were given the symbol of the campaign - white ribbons, leaflets, calendars ...
The meeting was attended by several teachers. Students expressed initiative to conduct informational meetings in frames of the campaign on the topic of violence, and to also to discuss the problem on "class hour."
Then the participants began to discuss the planned issue - the role of the media in the prevention of violence. According to them, the aggression comes from television. There was talk about the positive role of the media. It has been recorded that the media is an important tool against violence, but we must use it effectively.
On this subject there were held workshops in Poti and Koki.

In Kutaisi-the Fund “Sukhumi” there was held a workshop on: “Human security gender aspects”. It was attended by representatives of local governments, NGOs, journalists, activist leader women.
The workshop began with presentation of brochure, issued in frames of the project: ”Evaluation of gender security level in Western Georgia”. The participants were given information regarding conducted researches and then the work was continued in groups.
What should be done in order to raise security level – the groups elaborated interesting recommendations. In their suggestions it was revealed, that there are issues, solution of which is possible on local level, in close cooperation with the government. In their suggestions, it was shown the role of NGOs with the aim of making influence on society awareness. The meeting was also participated by the members of donor organizations.

Ordinary workshop was held in conflict management with women groups in Kutaisi, khoni, Khurcha.
The discussion was held on: how the problem of violence is reflected in media, how the stories, showing domestic conflicts react on society. The participants mentioned that informational space became very aggressive and the negative information make the society more tensed, which is finished negatively.
Discussion was interesting in Khoni, village Goch-Jikhaishi. By the opinion of participants, facts of domestic conflicts are numerous, there are victims of violence, but though the problem is not publicized broadly.
All groups mentioned that media is a good mechanism in prevention of violence, but is should be delivered to the society in a way, that will not cause aggression.

With students and teachers of schools №5 and 6 of the Abkhazian Autonomous Republic (Kutaisi), Representatives of Fund "Sukhumi" held four workshops on: "Learning conflict management in schools."
Students with Interest discussed what the world is, what the world is associated to them (color, music) how is the conflict defined, what are the positive and negative sides of the conflict, its reasons and how to manage conflict.
These workshops were based on the experience and methodology developed by the Armenian colleagues from the organization "Women for Development".
After completion of the active work the children expressed their contentment and dissatisfaction.
They are pleased to have considered relevant, necessary and essential topics, as well as develop practical skills of conflict management.
And they remained dissatisfied that so little time was allotted for such interesting work. Although they have the hope that the workshops will be resumed.
The teachers also liked workshops like. They decided to allocate few hours to the issues of conflict management during the civic education given.

 

Personal values, mentality and their impact on domestic conflicts, discussion of this issue caused strict discussions on workshops for the youth in conflictology. The opinions were divided into two: one part thinks that Georgian mentality promotes to development of domestic violence. The argument was the fact that according to mentality, headship in the family is entrusted to the man, and he cannot accept the fact that his rights areabolished - this fear is so strong that all forms of violenceare used.
According to another part of the young people, the mentality is not guilty in everything. Often family members do not know each other, do not respect the values ​​of each other - it promotes to development violence.
Despite the difference of opinion, it was fixed that the meeting of this type contribute to formation of correct thinking in young people and decreasing the risk of family conflicts.
Workshops were held in Khoni, Kutaisi, Poti, attended 41 participants.

State programs of social care need serious reforms, as there are cases when healthy people do not care about village land, do not start work due to loss of benefits, and it degrades people - discussions at the workshop were full of competent suggestions and interesting arguments. It was held in Zugdidi, in the center of democratic engagement.
The participants paid attention to the dangers that exist at the level of the city, region and also thought about the ways out.
The recommendations developed by the participants, touched all the components of human security. It was noted that professional colleges need more popularization and they will prepare staff according demands of labor market.

Workshops on the topic of human securitycontinue. Senaki - the fourth city in which the discussion was held on the background of an interesting discussion. The meeting room of Sakrebulobrought together representatives of different spectrum of society and they discussed the subject of security from a gender perspective.
A special discussion was caused by discussion of food safety component. According to participants, the quality of security is low in any field, but the women, because of their reproductive nature, especially are under the risk of taking genetically modified, spoiled and chemical products.
The recommendations developed by the audience, revealed that there are issues, prevention of which is possible at the local level. According to them, the society should be actively involved in elaboration of recommendations.
