Story about a work-shop, gender education of children

Fund “Sukhumi” organized a work-shop for the staff of kindergartens on: “Gender, gender roles, gender education in pre-school premises”. The work-shop was interesting for the participants and they got motivated to make changes in their working process. Journalists of the TV “Rioni” prepared a story on this concrete issue.

Meeting with Batumi journalists

 
The meeting in the Center of Democratic Engagement was attended by journalists of newspaper “Batumelebi” and representatives of TV Company “Imedi” and “Maestro”. They got interested by the work of the Fund “Sukhumi”.
Assistant of the Fund told them about research of Batumi Gender Advisory Council in the gender aspect, about results and network meeting of GACs, which was carried out in Batumi at the end of June.
Meeting with journalists was aired in local media.

Story on TV “Rioni” – Kutaisi GAC

Informational story in TV “Rioni”, aired on July 15, familiarized the audience with the topics of ordinary meeting of Kutaisi GAC. The members of GAC discussed results of needs research and on the basis of elaborated conclusions, began to work on package of proposals and recommendations for submission to the self-government.
Chairperson of the GAC announced most practical issues, which were raised by the group of research, answer the citizens’ needs and are in competence of local government - installation of signposts at the stops, creating informative and entertaining center for the elderly and etc.
Representatives of the fund “Sukhumi” talked about the aims of research. It was mentioned that the work revealed needs of women, youth, socially unprotected and disabled persons. Members of the GAC have a hope that most important issues will be chosen and submitted to the self-government for envisaging them in 2016 budget.

Activities of Senaki Gender Advisory Council – in TV Company “Egrisi”

Story in TV Company “Egrisi” tells about activities of Senaki GAC. As it was mentioned by the project assistant, the ordinary meeting of the GAC discussed results of conducted research on gender needs and started work on suggestions for self-government. There was also conversation about gender ideas of the project.
GAC members positively evaluated creation of GAC network in Georgia, which was joined by Senaki GAC.
As it was mentioned, each GAC has its own experience and the network gives possibility to widely spread it.
Also there was announced a forum, which is organized by Senaki GAC, where the representatives of Ozurgeti, Batumi and Kutaisi GAC will be invited.
The meeting was attended by the chairpersons of the fund “Sukhumi”. They gave high evaluation to the work in Senaki, which is carried out in close cooperation of the GAC with the local self-government. It concerns to raising of women representation, establishment of gender budget practice, seeking of donors. Positively were evaluated new programs of 2015, which answers to needs of different gender groups of citizens.
There was expressed a hope, that  for 2016, the work in this direction will be increased in this direction.

Meeting with journalists in Senaki

  
 
The journalists gathered on a balcony of Senaki WSC. The meeting summarized two-year activities of Gender Advisory Council, for establishment of gender policy and collaboration of the fund “Sukhumi” with media in frames of this work.
The members of GAC talked about a joint forum, which was held in Batumi in previous month, about experience of other GACs, future perspectives.
Soon the journalists will gather on final forum or Senaki GAC project.
